Hey there,
it's Andreas live from Cologne, where the Extreme Masters Global Challenge Cologne is currently taking place. I already arrived yesterday (Tuesday) morning and did some walking around the shopping mile before getting to the hotel. Kevin aka strenx had already arrived, but I caught him sleeping. Therefore I left again and took the train to the office of Turtle Entertainment to pick up our tickets for gamescom. Later at night, Sebastian aka Spart1e arrived, but everyone was so tired that we stayed in the hotel.
We got up quite early today, as the event was set to kick off at 09:50 CET. Although Kevin did not have any matches today, he still accompanied us to the event to practise with Sebastian. When we went downstairs to grab some breakfast, we found out that noctis, another Quake Live player, was also staying in the same hotel. Kevin seems to really love chocolate, seeing that he had Nutella on his bread, a chocolate cake and chocolate cornflakes. Anyway, we shared a cab with noctis to get to the event. He had forgotten to pick up his ticket for gamescom, we did only have three, so Kevin gave him his ticket and I had to get him a new one.

As it turned out, we would have to wait for several hours. Internet problems caused the matches to be delayed for almost four hours, while I had no internet in the press area neither. Not that it matter to me, because I had to take care of another problem: my notebook display stopped working, so it looked like I couldn't do anything. I simply restarted it again and again, and after some time it worked again. I took the opportunity to play some FIFA 2011 while waiting for the matches to begin, it's awesome! Roald and everone else who dares to challenge me, you won't stand a chance! Anyway, Sebastian had his matches shortly after, won two out of three matches and only lost to av3k. Considering that he had travelled for 24 hours (he came directly from QuakeCon in Dallas) and only slept about three hours, I think it is a pretty decent result.
It was time for an interview after Sebastian's groupstage, and we decided it would be fun to try something different and let Kevin interview him, I hope you liked it. Maybe we will have Sebastian interviewing Kevin sometime later during this event. Tomorrow we will have our newest addition Pedro aka LucifroN and Kevin in action. From what they have told me, they seem to be pretty confident about their first matches tomorrow, so let's hope for the best.

Sebastian and Kevin did some practise matches before we left and grabbed dinner. Liefje recommended a steak house, so we decided to go there. Kevin couldn't see burgers anymore, I guess he had many of them in Dallas. I ordered one anyway. He wanted some Twix or Snickers as dessert (Kevin: "I like nuts", Livia: "Me too", Everyone: "Haha", Kevin: "Perverts"), so we dropped by a shop and then went to the hotel. I am writing this blog on Sebastian's notebook, mine stopped working once again and I'm afraid it won't work tomorrow, but we will solve this somehow.
See you guys tomorrow, stay tuned to Fnatic.com for an interview with Kevin and more coverage from gamescom.
Cheers,
Andreas
