So lastnight, I finally hit the last level (I'm assuming) of MGS4, where you catapult onto Haven.

 

So this is what I am going to do: I will post my thoughts of the game currently, and then tommorow or Saturday, I will post my thoughts once I beat the living crap out of Liquid kthxbi.

Now remember, the last console game I played was for PSone. It had actually taken me a good 2 days to acclimate to MGS4. The funny part is, I have done hardly anything in the way of stealth. Sure, I have died alot, but 180+ alerts sould be a trophy by god. I haven't used one grenade either, and not once have auto aimed. This all being on Big Boss Hard of course (you will learn I play all my games on the hardest mode available, then, once a new difficulty has unlocked, that will be my second playthrough).

I remember my first 2 days of play being very frustrating, as I would die a good bit, before even reaching the first area transition (NOT ACT, AREA). I remember almost screaming in frustration as enemies would almost seem to have a 6th sense at where I was hiding from patrols. Once I discovered how to use the OctoCamo suit to decent effect, become comfortable with hitting the deck/crawling, and playing dead... I was then able to use stealth effectivly enough for my purposes. Part of this was also getting accustomed to the PS3 controller and layout. I guess you could call this one hell of a Sony refresher course :P.

Then, I acquired the P90, and lots of everything died lol.

Some of the boss fights, except Vamp, and Raging Raven, have been alittle too easy. To me, though, the story, and the amount of hatred some of the characters show one another, more than makes up for it. There are some awesome game mechanics in the game as well. The joyride with your mother being one, the trip to Shadow Moses with the flashback audio (even the rats lol), and then even piloting REX from MSG1.

So far, I am VERY pleased with the game. Everything from the visuals, to the clean crisp audio, and the music that fits the mood dead on every time. I do appologoize if the last part of this blog seems a bit rushed, but work calls. I will try to make my next blog free from any grammical errors, and alittle more detailed.
