Hi everybody!

As you might know we are having a bootcamp at the moment to get ready for eswc. I wont blog about that since I think my mates are doing it already.
What im gonna talk about is the trip I had to Kiev to compete at Arbalet female, back in April-May.

The day before going to Kiev my mum woke me up saying that I should check the news, they were saying that an ash cloud was  "attacking Europe" and they were closing the air space in the north. I directly called my flight company and the said it was
no problem with my flight.

So I went to Madrid that day and slept a few hours at a friends place. I was talking to my mates at that time cause they were
leaving from Denmark which was closed, and still they didnt have any idea on how to go to Ukraine, but they would do
wathever it takes to get to Kiev.
Anyways I woke up at 3am and went to the airport, I took my flight to Rome (we stopped there first) and when I was waiting
there a friend of mine, aNouC, called me a bit desperate:

"Irene, where are you???"
"Still in Rome, why?"
"The event has been canceled"
"Wait...WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!??!?!?!?!"

Just right after that sentence i could hear that typical "passengers of flight xxx to Kiev please bla bla bla we are getting
on board bla bla"

Omg, what should I do? I had to think in 2 seconds, and since my suitcase was already on the plane and so on I decided to take it, but I was really really mad, like you cant imagine. I was flying alone to a country where i didnt know what was waiting
for me.

When i arrived I could see a face I recognice, it was iZee, a french player I knew from before, we played together in the past.
She was playing for Millenium at that time. It was only us there, noone from any other team arrived. Oh well, Nix0n from
hltv.org was also there, and he even arrived before us, like 1 week before? was crazy.

Oh I forgot something important! They lost my bagagge in Rome, niceeeeeeeeee!!! And since I was supposed to fly back to Spain the next day I thought it was no problem at all, they told me they would send it in the next flight to Kiev.

The next morning was too late to fly, the ash cloud was already in Ukraine and Spain, there was no way to go back home. Either to get my suitcase, very niceeeeeeeeee!!!

For the next days we didnt know exactly when would it be possible to fly again. Actually it was 1 week or even 8 days untill I
took that happy plane.

Now Im gonna start showing my appreciation, BIG ONE, to all those people who helped me there in my time in Kiev: LeX,
ZeroGravity, Tafa, Tafas girlfriend, Alex, Vika (I hope im spelling it right), her boyfriend Dima, groove, one guy from Navi
who drove us from the airport, i dont remember who it was! the security guys from the Arena... many many people who really
made my time better that what it would be without them!

Ok now before I finish, I have to tell the story about my passport. It expired during my time there (NICE!!!) SO i had to go
to the spanish embassy and see what they could do for me. I gotta say that was a hard one haha. We (izee, nixon and me) took a taxi from te hotel to the "embassy", i write it like that cause it was just some kind of oficial building, not the spanish one.
It was hard to know that thou since noone there speak english but dunno how we managed to get the right address. Outside the building we tried to take a taxi there, and after 3 or 4 NOes we gave up and go back to the Arena.
The next morning I went alone from the hotel to the right address. I waited there for like 2-3 hours and then I had my new
passport!!! I couldnt go out of the building while they were doing it so I just moved around. I trapped my finger with a big
door, and it started bleeding badly haha. I still have one finger weird, cause i have a fissure in the bone cause of that.

A funny thing is that, 1 week after I arrived back home I watched in the news that they closed the spanish embassy in Kiev, because half of the workers there were sent to jail due to some bribe stuff... O.M.G.



Well well well, of course there are many adventures on this trip that i havent mentioned but i cant remind them right now.
