Hey guys !

This is the french ninja frog, writing my first blog on that kick-ass website ! I wanted to let you know about my week-end in Poitiers, at Gamers-Assembly.

That was kind of hard at first, trying to find a way to go… train ? car ? well, i went with a good friend of mine, and people from the french organisation Millenium. The driver wanted to go as fast as possible and be at the event early. Me and the movie-maker Jack were both drinking in the car some canadian whiskey !! That’s why the driver wanted to arrive asap so he could drink some with us =)
Everything went well, and then, the cops stopped us (driving at 140 km/h instead of 100 because of the rain). They started to open the truck and they see all the stuff (laptop, monitors …) but it went well as well. They just said to stop driving that fast, we didn’t pay anything. We were quiet happy about it
=)

Finally at the event, we directly went at the hôtel, and we spent the night with the austrians guys. I only met noctis before, the captain of the team, but we all have a great time (i think). We drank, mostly me to be honest, they were too serious about that showmatch !! hehe just kidding :o)

On the next day, my mates and i wanted to go to the pool and to the gym because the game was scheduled around 7 pm. Thing is, we had to play earlier. So we took our stuff, and we went to the big scene !

We had so much delayyyyyyy i think we played around 6. We had to use some helicopter headphones but the microphone was not working. We spent a couple hours fixing it… We were all kind of pissed off because the admins were kind of useless so we just fixed it on our own.  After that, we heard that we had to play with 75 hertz (instead of 100/120) just because of some shit plasma monitors below our computers. I mean, it’s great for the spectators, but not with that kind of game. You can’t really see what’s happening and there was a BIG screen in the middle, so why bothering us for those tiny monitors… Furthermore, the counter strike game (France vs France) had to be played just after our game and, of course, they didn’t give a shit about those monitors. So they were able to play
with 100 hertz… So you can play 100hz on CS, but quake forget it… LOL i mean, this is the whole point of Quake, having at least 100 hz :o

Anyway, the game started. We picked dm6, that free-for-all map… kind of :P That was kind of close but we had some communication issues i believe… We really didn’t play our best, but we still managed to win. After that, we played dm20, their home map. I think we went in too much confident. We didn’t apply our tactic (i don’t know why) so we lost it kind of badly. They had a great teamplay on it and they managed to pick almost every power-up. It made the difference for sure. After losing that map, i think i looked at unity, i didn’t say anything but i was like « what the fuck just happened dude ? » We were all like « fuck, we REALLY can lose that game by playing like this », we really started to be afraid. But still, i tried to motivate my players, and we were at home in France, so the audience was helping a lot as well. It was crazy  when people were yelling while a frenchman was killing an enemy. It went insane :p But it felt just nice :D So having back our motivation, we applied our tactic (kind of) and we had control during the whole game. Score might look close but they played really defensive. We definitely had the advantage -)

After the game we all went back to the hôtel, take a nap for some people, and we were ready to party. Blahhhhhhhh ! Shit happened, we couldn’t even celebrate our victory. When we wanted to buy some alcohol, the battery of the car just died and by the time we started the engine, the shop was closed !! fuck ! So we simply ordered pizzas and watched demos about our game. At least we know what we did wrong. We wanted to spend the night with the austrians but i don’t know where they were. They had to take the train early the next morning so…

Hopefully i had my GT740 MSI with me so i could put some music on ! :D

Waking up, unity & slx had to leave… 9h by car… heh:/ So we just spent our day at the event, strenx, my friend Mex (the driver) and me. We played some cards game, Magic the gathering ! Was fun =) Time goes by, and strenx had to run, taking his train (it’s Sunday btw.) So i was with Mex, my mates were all gone. We just played Fifa 2010 all night long. Chelsea-Barcelone in front of Frequence3, a french radio with AWESOME music =)) Messi didn’t score 4 goals tho, it was even so hard to score only one. Jeez… :D
I think it was 3 am after i lost my fifa games… hopefully i play quake better lol :P
We went to the hôtel, and there was a party with french cs players… hahah one of the best night ever. We were 12 in the smallest room :P  Everybody was drinking, smoking, enjoying the end of the GA’s weekend !

Alex, a friend of Mex spent the whole week end with us as well, granted as taxi-driver when Mex’s battery was dead =)))) Mex told me he had a georgous sister so we asked him to share, but nothing to do… he didn’t want to… BLAAHHHH gay =)

We all really had a great time overall, didn’t spend that much time with austrians and i think that’s a shame
L but hey, few more tournaments coming up, we will fix it =)

I really could tell so much more about my week end but i think people will sleep by reading 10 pages hehehe =]

Hope you enjoyed reading it, as much as i enjoyed remembering those fun stuff :P

Big kisses :P
