Soooo… this thing's a little rusty. But don't worry,
we're designing a brand new model!

Come kick the tyres on our new site.

Not now

Alright as you might know I am Martin 'trace' Heldt, the new player replacing gux! I'm 22 years old and I live in Copenhagen by myself. I just finished school and now I am trying to figure out what to study.

So gamegune was my first event with fnatic and I was looking forward to play some cs and have a nice trip with the guys. I met up with moddii and karrigan at the airport and off we were!

We had a fine hotel approximately 15 minutes walk from Gamegune.

I had been to gamegune once before a long time ago with wooSai and it was actually really good, which is why this year's event disappointed me a little bit. At the first day we arrived at the event 1½ hours before so we could set up and warm up. If you followed the tournament you would know that it was heavily delayed, I think 5 hours. It was so boring to wait all that time, and we were lucky that we had the first group. I kind of feel sad for the other teams playing so late. Luckily we managed to come in 1st place in our group without any problems.

Then we had to face k23 in our first game and we started out with crushing them 16-0 on train which was good for the team, and then 16-10 on the last map. k23 is a good team and they have beaten some big teams before, so a good start in the fnatic jersey.

The semi-final against Virtus.PRO was definitely the toughest match throughout the event. They played good in practice and played good against us at lan again, so I am surprised that they lost 0-2 against delta. We beat them 2-1 in a close encounter and it was really important for us to make it to the upperbracket final.

I was hoping for ESC to beat navi because I don't mind playing ESC and my team always do well against them so it was perfect. We lost the first map 14-16 even though we lost both pistol rounds so it was really annoying, because I felt we deserved to win that map. To my happiness we won the two last maps very convincing and we were happy with being in the Grand Final.

I kind of wanted to play ESC again in the final because I just wanted to win the event and I believed we would have the biggest chance to do that against them, since I have never beaten NaVi and I think they're a really strong team, but NaVi ended up beating ESC so THIS WAS MY TIME!

We won the first map pretty easily, and then we lost the second map 14-16, and again losing both pistols.... I felt we were dominant and we showed that aswell on the last map which we won with a pretty big margin.

So all in all the event could have been a bit better with the delay and the internet, and I think that we could've gotten some more information on what was happening. I am glad that I finally beat NaVi and particularly in a final, and now the mental wall in my head is gone and I am not thinking about them like some kind of superpower anymore!

Thanks for all the fnatic supporters out there, really appreciate it! :) FORZA FNATIC
