News broke yesterday concerning CompLexity dropping their Counter-Strike division just prior to the start of the BEAT IT tournament run by MSI.

This news came as a shock to the entire E-Sports community, and on the eve of such a prestigious event, made people wonder just what had happened.  It seems as though one of the CompLexity members, Thomas ‘Thomz’ Garcia missed his flight as he forgot vital papers in order for him to make it into China.  Upon hearing such news, two more team members intentionally missed their flights as well.  The remaining two coL players were already through security and in the airport before they got the news and decided to take the trip to China even though they lacked a full roster.

CompLexity made the following statement on their website to address the issue:

Earlier today we learned that one of our players missed his flight to China for MSI BEAT IT because he forgot his visa at home.  This caused two players to intentionally miss their flights.  This type of incompetence and outright disrespect for a tournament organizer flies in the face of everything compLexity stands for and will not be tolerated.
Because this is the second time in less than a year we have released the entire squad, we strongly feel we owe our loyal fans an honest explanation.  First, we would like to stress that each player who has contributed to our Counter-Strike efforts over the past year is a good person individually.  We have enjoyed getting to know each person and appreciate each individual effort.

CompLexity goes on to apologize to the community and label the players as the worst team they have ever dealt with.  The team was then released from the CompLexity organization and promptly removed from the teams’ roster page.

UPDATE:  As far as MSI’s BEAT IT tournament is concerned, the local team of wNv will replace coL in the brackets.  Two members of the former CompLexity squad are in China and are going to partake in a video interview with Fnatic to add further comment on the situation at hand.

Stay tuned to FNATIC.com for further updates on this situation as it develops.
