Hello Jian, you're going to head over to a tournament this weekend - WCG Canada as it's been dubbed as, what are your thoughts heading into this event?

"I've been practicing really hard in the past week to do as best as I can in this event. I am comfortable in my game at the moment so I should be able to represent FnaticMSI well!"

From the last tournament Canada seems to have some really strong Protoss players. Do you think working on an individual match up more than the others might give you an advantage? What exactly did you focus on in practice?

"Working on individual matchups allows you to know precisely the timings, pros and cons of the possible build orders in the match up, so yes, it will definitely serve as an advantage. Where as, mass gaming on ladder while allow you to encounter different opponents, different maps and different races, so you can't focus on improving one specific aspect of the game, but rather it helps you improve your micro and macro management, both of mine which are already decent. For that reason I am working on specific matchups and maps and refining my build orders and finding the best counters to opposing build orders."

Neat, from the list of players heading there, whom are you looking forward to playing the most and least?

"The big names that I've heard that are going are Slush and Kiwikaki. Both players are really good but I dread playing slush the most because I don't get enough practice against zergs."

Do you have any special strategies prepared for the tournament or are you going to try and play it safe in some games and allin in some others?

"Since we have to play on bnet I will be able to check their profiles for their ratings/wins/losses. I will play safe against weaker opponents and I will alternate between risky/safe builds against strong opponents."

Good to know, what are your personal expectations of this tournament? Would you base your opinion on yourself as a SC2 player from the results of this tournament?

"I think as a player in the top 15 rankings in NA for the past few weeks it's reasonable to assume that I will place in top 8 for this tournament. Of course, my goal is to win gold."

Lastly - Can we have some final words for the fans and readers of FnaticMSI?

"Thanks to the sponsors - MSI, SteelSeries, BigFoot Networks, SLAPPA & UGAME, as always. Thanks to the few fans I have at the moment, I will do my best at this tournament!"
