Rain gives us a recap of 2011 and reveals us his 2012 goals.

Rain, modest and camera-shy, said he had no good recent photos and asked the staff to recycle an old one. He's sporting a vibrant orange haircolor now.
We interviewed Rain to discuss all the exciting changes he went through in both- his professional gaming life and his personal life- in 2011 as well as see what his future plans are in 2012.
Note: We will have a live Facebook Chat session with Rain on February 6th at our official Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/fnatic) at 18:00 KST (10:00 AM CET)
How were your Code A qualifier matches? Can you speak a little bit about your opponents and how the games went?
The first match was against a Terran player and the second match was against IM.True but I lost 0-2. I think with both games I lost really close so I was really disappointed.
Now, let’s talk a little bit about your playing style. In the past, you’ve been criticized for cheese all-ins. Do you think you’ve shaken off that image completely now?
After GSL, I actually didn’t use all-ins a lot. Not just the fact that the maps and strategies changed but it’s also easier for the opponent that knows my playing style to anticipate and respond easily. But, I think a lot of people still think of me for my cheese rushes. But, I don’t feel offended by it or anything.
What kind of playing style do you want to aim for the most? Is there any player’s style that you want to learn from?
I want to take after IM.MVP. I think MVP’s playing style is the most perfect style.
But from the fans’ point of view, I think SlayerS.MMA’s style is more entertaining to watch, so if I were to learn, I want to learn MMA’s style.
So, it’s my understanding that you’re now back in Korea after staying in America for a while. Is there a reason for moving back to Korea? And if you can compare your life in America versus your life in Korea, what are the differences?
I’m completely back for now. While living in America, I learned a lot such as English but there was a difference in game practice. I think the Korean server has a lot of good players but NA or EU servers, with the exception of a very few players, don’t really help with practice.
What’s your daily life in Korea and practice like? How does it feel to be back practicing in the TSL house?
When I came back to Korea, I felt that my skill level really declined. So while I was worrying about it, TSL coach Lee Woon Jae allowed me to practice in the TSL house so I’m really thankful to him. I think my skill level grew a lot while practicing in the TSL house.
Someone in one of your old interviews asked about your love life. Do you have any girlfriend or anyone that you like (You could even mention a K-pop girl group member ^^)?
I don’t have a girlfriend;; ㅜㅜI wish someone introduced me to someone..
2011’s been an exciting year of changes for you. Just to recap, you’ve now participated in a handful of foreign tournaments and also GSL seasons. What are some differences between foreign tournaments and GSL seasons and what do you think each can do to improve to be better experiences for the players and the fans in 2012?
First, I think there are differences in how the tournaments are set-up, the prize pool, fans, and the fan culture. American fans are very outgoing and there are a lot of spectators so I really like playing the game for them. To provide the best experience for the fans, I think I need to show great matches that meet their expectations.
What was your favorite foreign tournament and why?
I remember MLG Anaheim the most. There were a lot of fans that came to the tournament and I also really enjoyed the after-party with other players after the tournament.
You’ve expressed in the past interviews that you wanted to participate in as many foreign tournaments as possible. Is there one that you’re particularly looking forward to participate in?
DreamHack ^^
We’ve seen lots of partnerships between Korean teams and foreign teams springing up as well as several player transfers. Are there any specific players that you are most close to and also like to practice with?
I think I’m most close to TSL.Alive. I practice usually with the people I’ve practice with before and also with other progamer friends.
What are your goals for 2012? Also, FNATIC has gone through many roster changes recently. What are your thoughts on this and what are your hopes for the team?
There are a lot of new friends that joined and also friends who left and I was a little sad to see team friends that I played games together with leave. There’s nothing in particular I expect from the team except I wish they keep sending me to a lot of tournaments as they do now.
How did you come up with your new hairstyle? Is this a homage to FNATIC?
I didn’t consciously do it with respect to FNATIC but now I see that my hair color do resemble FNATIC colors.
Do you believe that lack of Brood War experience is actually your advantage that you can develop over time?
I don’t think StarCraft 1 was a good fit with me. Because I don’t have particular Brood War experience I feel that there are a lot of points that I can improve on.
What was the best game/match you played in 2011?
Against SlayerS Boxer in MLG Anaheim winner’s bracket in the semifinals, 1st game.
What is your favorite unit and how have patches and metagame shifts changed the way you play with that unit?
Before, I liked reaper the most. But due to many patches, I can’t use it anymore so I’m a bit sad about that.
Who, if anyone, is your nemesis? (This could be a person you always run into at tournaments, a BM guy who you just like to beat, a ladder sniper...) Would you like to have a rival and if so, who would it be?
Hmm, I haven’t played against anyone a lot in particular so I don’t think I have a nemesis yet.
What is your favorite map?
They don’t use it anymore now but MLG Testbug.
Any last comments or message for your fans?
I haven’t had good results lately but I’m going to keep working hard and hope to see you with great results higher up. FNATIC fighting!
