Here are the answers for the last time's ASK Fnatic that featured ToD.

It's been quite a while since we gave you the opportunity to ask our French Starcraft 2 player Yoan 'ToD' Merlo all your questions. We apologize for the delay with the answers but unfortunately ToD was busy in the past few weeks and practiced more than ever! So here's what you all have been waiting for: The answers to your questions!

Do you think your training in korea brings you a lot of stuff or you were disappointed?

I think I improved a lot since I came here, but I do think I could improve a lot more in a better environment and with practice partners. I have been living in the Gomhouse where I have no teammates and no real practice partners so I just mostly ladder and have to improve by myself.

If you could choose one player (foreign or Korean) from each race as a dedicated practice partner, who would they be?

Terran: aLive , Zerg: IdrA, Protoss: MaNa

How is practicing and living in korea going?

It's alright, not been perfect but I try to make most of it and still plan on improving everything.

Also, what do you think you have improved on the most whilst in Korea for training?

I worked a lot on my mechanics while in Europe, so I didn't have to focus on that too much in Korea, I think my micro and timings is probably the two things that have improved a lot in Korea

What are your aims for 2012 within SC2?

I would like to represent FnaticRaidCall as well as possible worldwide with good tournament placements and also help build a team that can have a lot of successes and that will be united in helping each other improve and perform well.

What do you expect to see next in tournaments? Like the next big thing that every tournament must have to be popular? Also Good Luck in any upcoming tournaments too.

I just hope tournaments can have good formats without best of ones or late night games that's my only wish.

Do you think that team bonding is important for success, and do you manage to bond with the other Fnatic players, despite the geographical differences, as well as the Korean players?

Yes, I do believe it is important, I'm quite good friend with NightEnD and Rain, we do not talk every day but I talk strategy sometimes with them and in tournaments I try to be helpful.

Do you still refuse to play in hot / cold environments?

No, not anymore, I just play with whatever conditions there is and try to do my best in it.

How often does desRow wake you up?

Not that often anymore ^^

Are you going to vote for Sarkozy in 2012?

Probably not ^^

Given how much you achieved in Warcraft 3, are you confident that you can be as successful at Starcraft II as you were in Warcraft 3?

Starcraft is way more competitive than Warcraft was, so I don't think so. Yet it doesn't mean that I won't try!

desRow is such a doucebag. So why you are helping douchebags?
(Example #1 and Example #2  )

desRow can be annoying at times but he's not a bad guy at heart, I'm trying to help him improve his game and manners, sometimes it's difficult but maybe with time he'll learn.

How do you practise in Korea, is it mostly ladder or have you been playing customs with anyone we know?

Almost exclusively ladder, sometimes a few customs, I really wanted to get top GM on Korean ladder before I start playing custom games, but I haven't been able to do that just yet so until I do I'll just keep laddering.

What did you do after you quit Warcraft 3 and before you started playing Starcraft 2?

I took a long and deserved rest for a while and played some poker.

Do you like warcraft 3 or Starcraft 2 better? Why?

I like both games, it's hard to say which I like better, sometimes I miss the old days and Warcraft was the first game I really fell in love with, but these days I sometimes love Starcraft a lot because of how fast and complex of a game it is, while sometimes i hate the game because of how random it can be , just like in Warcraft. I'd say both games are pretty great but have their flaws in the end.

What skills have transitioned well from Warcraft 3: TFT to Starcraft 2 and what haven't?

The micro part is always useful, I was one of the players that had a good macro in Warcraft but it's not really comparable with Starcraft 2 where you need to always be on point with everything, on the Korean ladder geting supply blocked just once can lose you a game.

What do your friends and family think about you moving to Korea?

My parents are proud of me as far as I know, and they know they'll see me again, or can keep in touch with me easily online so they don't mind it too much.
