A few moments before the tournament, we caught up with Pink Zinic's Cazzidy for a quick interview.
Q: Hello, Cazzidy. You just arrived at Pink Zinic and you are about to play our tournament. Do you think you girls are prepared enough? Did you have enough time to prepare?
A: Yes, I am back in Pink Zinic..again ;) but this time with alot of new and positive energy. We have done run throughs on all the maps but I wont say we are 100% prepared, then we would maybe need another week of practice. I still believe our chances are good and that we have been making some progress ingame for both tactics and teamplay.
Q: Who do you feel is your biggest threat?
A:I think Millenium and mousesports will be the biggest threat as they have alot of routined and strong players.
Q: How do you feel about this initiative of ours to run this tournament?
A: I think its great for the female community that such a great name and organisation as FnaticMSI is hosting a female tour. It makes it feel more serious, also with the prizes. I hope that more organisations will do the same in the future and help femal gaming grow worldwide.
Q: Where do you see female gaming going in 2010 ?
A: Last year was a really bad year for female gaming, the ESWC which is the biggest offline tournament for girls didnt happen and it was hard for teams to find the motivation to keep on playing and fighting when there wasnt really anything to fight for. We can thank the ESL/EMS for keeping us busy with their leagues and offline finals. I hope 2010 will be a great year, it looks like ESWC will be for sure this time and that is very positive. What we are hoping for now is that maybe The CPL and WCG would take femalegaming into their competitions aswell.
Q: How do you feel about being removed from the earlier Zinic lineup to then come back and take over in game leadership in a short space of time?
A: I had been talking about stepping down for a long time, I didnt have the motivation to keep on playing with the oldd zinic lineup. The girls had been trying for some time to find a replacement but it was too hard so I also played with them at Dreamahck summer even tho I wasnt really supposed too. Taking over as leader is no problem at all for me as I am a leader person and have been tactical leader in all the teams I have played in. I feel like the team believes in me and are really happy with the way I control them ingame and I think its going to be all good ;)
Q: What are your thoughts about remaining an independent team or joining up an organisation. what are the hurrdles of maybe not having a multi-gaming organisation to back you up? (like mouz girls for e.g.)
A: Well, ofc being an independent team can be hard cause you cant depend on anyone else to keep it going if something goes wrong. The most important thing is the sponsors and aswell as playing and staying a good and profiled team we need to do alot of things for them to be sure that both parts can benefit from it. We have earlier been under the MYM organisation a good example for teams lifting eachother.
