Waves were started early in the morning, when Carmac posted a rather ambiguous Facebook message quoting: "Apparently, Frag Executors did not accept the direct invitation into the ESWC in Paris in order to... compete in the Polish qualifiers. Does that make sense to you?". An announcement this evening confirms that Fx won't take up the direct ESWC invite, only to participate in the national qualifier.

It looks like Polish based organisation, Frag Executors, now supporting the Golden Five as all of you might know, has made a rather interesting decision regarding their ESWC attendance. Team manager, Adrian 'Ziggy' Witkowski clearly explains the situation:

We feel obliged to take part in them for our fans, the media and also teams' sponsors.

Our original intention was to play in the national qualifier and keeping the spot in Paris finals. At first the organisers ensured us that our start is possible and does not mean losing the main tournament's autoberth. We wanted to transfer the slot to another Polish team - or give away our prize trip. Unfortunately, the rules of Polish national qualifier and further decision change from the global organisers explictitly excluded us from playing in the qualifier and therefore forced us to make a choice between taking part in ESWC Poland and keeping the autoberth.

The statement puts things in a clear perspective, but to be outlined are also the community comments, which state that its rather a matter of finance at the middle. The direct invite doesn't assure transportation to the event, meanwhile winning the qualifier guarantees those costs covered for six people. Given that FX has a rather consolidated position in their national Counter-Strike scene, this decision can be classified as a calculated risk. Stay tuned with us for updates.
