A Legacy Unfolding: Martin 'Rekkles' Larsson

We are so proud today to announce that our League of Legends talisman, Martin ‘Rekkles’ Larsson, has signed an agreement to remain at Fnatic for three more years!

Our star AD Carry extends his stay having come off a successful 2017, having won the EU LCS Summer Split MVP award and helping the team to a quarterfinal finish at the 2017 World Championships in China.

Having spent almost his entire professional career at Fnatic, Rekkles first joined as a 16-year old, playing with xPeke and Cyanide, both of whom he will now surpass as our all-time longest serving League of Legends player as we enter 2018.

Since 2012, Rekkles has become one of the most iconic players in League of Legends history, having won multiple EU LCS Championships, including our undefeated 2015 Summer Split, and appearing at Worlds three times.

“When I attended my first tournaments together with Fnatic, I never thought that we would still be side by side five years later. There's been bumps along the road, but Black and Orange has always been there for me.

“Therefore, I decided to return the favour by signing for another three years. If I could sign for longer, I would. But Riot doesn't allow such contracts to take place, so this will have to do for now.

“I've mentioned it before and I'll gladly mention it again, our loyalty to each other is one of my proudest attributes and I won't dishonor it twice. Everything that we've gone through since my debut at DreamHack Winter 2012 to our latest Quarterfinals showing at Worlds 2017 has been nothing short of a privilege.

“It is with great pleasure that I announce the continuation of FNC Rekkles.” - Martin ‘Rekkles’ Larsson, AD Carry

Rekkles will remain with Fnatic until 2020.

Rekkles is the first member Fnatic’s Season 8 roster to be confirmed, with further announcements about the League of Legends team to come in December.

You can see Rekkles in action as EULCS’ AD Carry at All-Star Los Angeles on 7th-10th December.

The agreement between Rekkles and Fnatic is subject to Riot approval.
