It’s exciting times for mobile esports, with more logging in for casual play than ever before and professional scenes thriving for multiple titles.
In entering Vainglory in 2017, we took a huge step forward into a new branch of the esports universe. Deniz ‘nettetoilette’ Heinzelmann, Alessandro ‘Palmatoro’ Palmarini and Dennis ‘TetnoJJ’ Klaus forged an exciting prospect for FNATIC.
With the roster, we took fourth place in our opening split, reaching top 8 at both Unified Live Championships throughout the year, and capping out the Summer Split of VG8 EU in second place.
Despite this, we are, for a number of reasons, choosing to opt away from Vainglory for the time being and saying a fond goodbye to our young roster of players.
Vainglory is a great game and is a scene that we want to see continue to grow and develop in the coming years. For now, though, the best decision for FNATIC is to step back, reevaluate the scene and the big changes that are coming into play and give ample time to review it as a competitive title, as well as give ourselves space to truly explore our options.
We do want to extend a sincere thanks to the team who now depart FNATIC as free agents. We had a brilliant time with you guys and hope you all reach your goals moving forward.
A big thank you as well to Super Evil Megacorp for involving us. We’re super excited to see the development of the title in the coming season!
