Tekkz, he's Fnatic now

Published: 06 Nov 2019

The boy wonder has arrived. Donovan ‘Tekkz’ Hunt has joined Fnatic.

We are esports, and this is Tekkz.

Perhaps the best, most consistent FIFA player in the world, the 18-year old signs for the Black and Orange on a deal until the end of FIFA 2021.

Having grown up in the west country of England, Tekkz joins us in London as already one of the best achieving British esports stars of all time.

Tekkz shot onto the scene at the start of 2018 when he won the first ever FUT Champions Cup in Barcelona. Last season, he went onto win three out of six FUT Champion Cups across the season, fast becoming the most talked about player in FIFA.

Donovan ‘Tekkz’ Hunt on joining:

“I'm truly excited to be part of Fnatic. Joining the biggest British esports team with such incredible facilities in London will provide exactly what I need to win my first World Championship.
“I'll be representing Fnatic’s colours already this weekend in Bucharest.
“Follow our journey.”

Daniel Luther of Tekkz’ agency, KiNG Esports, said:

“Tekkz is an icon within the FIFA esports community. Fnatic is the most iconic British esports organisation. Bringing these two pieces together felt totally natural.
This is the largest deal FIFA esports has ever witnessed and reflects Tekkz' outstanding prospect. The journey has just started - we are here to lift trophies, to build a legacy and to inspire young esports-talents to follow in the footsteps of Tekkz.”

Colin Johnson, Fnatic FIFA Team Manager, after two years of work:

“Tekkz is a player that we have been interested in signing ever since he burst onto the scene in FIFA 18 at the Barcelona event.

“It has been an honour to witness his massive growth as a player and an icon within the FIFA scene. It's an even greater honour now to bring him even further along that path and help him win his first World Championship.
“As Fnatic, we are perfectly positioned to utilise our influence and resources here in the UK and Europe to really push Tekkz' development to the next level. We genuinely cannot wait to see what the next years of Fnatic with Tekkz will bring!”

FNATIC v ROMA ESPORTS

The signing of Tekkz marks Fnatic first entry into FIFA wearing the Black and Orange. Till now, we’ve competed under the banner of Roma Fnatic, alongside our strategic partner Serie A’s A.S. Roma. Although Damian ‘Damie’ Augustyniak and Nathan ‘Zelonius’ Horton will still play under the management of Fnatic staff and now compete under the banner of Roma Esports.

We hope both Fnatic and Roma Esports will be fierce competitors throughout the season!

Colin Johnson on Roma Esports:

With the addition of Tekkz, we are officially launching the Fnatic FIFA team to compete on the global stage. Our fantastic partnership with AS Roma will continue. Moving forward, Roma’s FIFA team will compete under the name Roma Esports, but the team will still receive the full support of Fnatic staff and facilities. We are very excited to see what Damie, Zelonius and the rest of the Roma Esports team can accomplish this year!

Tekkz will be competing with Fnatic on his chest this weekend as the FIFA Global Series begins in Bucharest.

He's not just FIFA.

He's esports now.
