Thank you, Klaj!

Today we say a very fond farewell to one of Fnatic’s longest serving players.

Klaj joined as our starting Support back at the beginning of 2016, breathing new life into what was proving to be a difficult Spring Split. Making an almost immediate impact, within a month the roster had smashed expectations making it all the way to the finals of the IEM World Championships only to be halted by the juggernauts of SKT.

With the return of veteran YellowStar, the young Swede made the switch to Challenger Series, heading up the first iteration of Fnatic Academy as captain where he would go on to sharpen his skill set. Unfortunately the first time round things to go to plan but when a revitalized roster was formed prior to the 2017 season Klaj was back with new purpose, leading the team through a commanding CS qualifying campaign. He showed throughout the season exactly the calibre of professional he is and was a deserved winner when it came to the LCS promotion tournament. After such a mountain of effort afforded by Klaj, we have nothing but respect and appreciation for him.

"Working with Klaj over the last year has been an absolute pleasure. Always positive and constantly striving to improve, Klaj has given his heart and soul to our organisation and for that we are eternally grateful. I'm sure there is a lot more to come from Johan and I'm genuinely sad to see him go." - Finlay 'Quaye' Stewart

Now he moving on to new challenges, we’ve got no doubt that he is in good hands and will go as far as he wants to in professional play.

On a warmer note, we are pleased to announce the arrival of substitute Mid laner, Special. He’ll be lending his support to the team in the coming months as we look to finish a strong 2017 season.
