Business Development Lead

As Business Development Lead at Fnatic, you'll drive growth across all of Fnatic’s B2B activity, spearheading the establishment of new relationships across brand partnerships, licensing, wholesale, retail, and digital products. A commercial leader and proven sales professional, you’ll have a strong drive for success, able to self-motivate but also inspire those you connect with to come on the Fnatic journey. You’ll also bring a strong ability to sense opportunity, but be able to couple this with a disciplined and data-led approach that provides the business with real-time transparency on growth.

Your mission is to:

  • Structure Business Development within Fnatic in a way that best serves the full breadth of our commercial activity
  • Help further refine Fnatic’s commercial proposition and GTM strategy to align with achievement of your sales plan/agreed revenue targets, positioning us as one of the most progressive and successful brands in gaming, entertainment and web3
  • Drive lead generation and deal progression for partnerships and licensing agreements, managing Fnatic’s relationships with sales agencies and through direct conversations with brands and other relevant parties
  • Ensure the Fnatic value proposition is well articulated, and deliver high quality pitches that are compelling to prospective commercial partners
  • Identify and secure distribution agreements for Fnatic products that deliver commercial return and act to enhance the Fnatic brand in key markets
  • Drive the commercial development of digital products and Web3 initiatives that have the ability to scale
  • Ensure all agreements optimise Fnatic’s rights, assets and inventory, and maximise profitability
  • Work closely with the Commercial Operations Lead to define and enhance commercial processes and provide regular updates on pipeline, performance vs target, and key commercial development workstreams
  • Support Commercial talent acquisition efforts as required, leading on candidate assessment and providing appropriate feedback
  • Be a recognisable brand ambassador for Fnatic, keeping your finger on the pulse of changes in the gaming and esports landscape and growing your network within the space
  • Lead on ad-hoc new Commercial projects and tasks as defined by your manager

We're looking for:

  • Extensive experience setting, meeting, and surpassing revenue goals, both as an individual and with teams you have led
  • Exposure to a broad portfolio of commercial opportunities and disciplines within a growth focused organisation
  • Demonstrable success securing high value sponsorship and commercial partnerships
  • Extensive experience working with and managing sales teams and agents
  • Experience creating and successfully implementing sales incentives programmes
  • An engaging personality and natural rapport with people, backed by an established network
  • Ability to present innovative ideas leveraging Fnatic’s unique commercial portfolio in non-traditional ways
  • Familiarity with rights holder models, digital media properties and how brands can engage with audiences through gaming and esports
  • An understanding of licensing and distribution models for consumer products, and how to engage with relevant stakeholders in this space, preferably within gaming
  • Honesty in evaluating how you can improve constantly
  • Line management experience, and the ability to get the best out of people
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English, additional languages desirable
