Head of Gear

At Fnatic, we've been at the forefront of elite performance in Esports for the last 17 years, cementing our place as the most successful team in history through knowing what it takes to get the extra % needed to win. Our Gear product line is the physical manifestation of our performance brand, being the 'Formula 1 car' to our 'F1 drivers'. As Head of Gear, you'll have a unique opportunity to utilise insights from some of the world's best esports athletes in developing market leading products that raise the bar for gamers, genuinely making them better. You'll be a senior leader in our business, owning one of our fastest growth areas and will lead the drive to translate our know-how in gaming performance to products that enhance performance for all gamers, and shape the first holistic gaming performance brand in history. Working closely with our Product Lead to define our product strategy, you'll own the sales and distribution plan, whilst bringing a wealth of hardware experience to help us reach more of the massive global market of over 1.5 billion competitive gamers. Finally, you'll be an inspiring people leader, able to unify a talented existing team and elevate them to new levels.

Your mission is to:

  • Refine the Gear vision and go-to-market strategy, looking at opportunities to accelerate growth smartly, whilst remaining true to our consumer promise
  • Work closely with the Product Lead to not only think about what will win in the next 9 months, but also establish a long term vision that will put us leaps and bounds ahead of the competition with a relentless focus on our customer
  • Own the Gear P&L, ensuring margins and revenue targets are met and exceeded whilst enhance underlying process that drives this such as business case development and review
  • Pioneer ways to lower inventory and drive demand, jumping on opportunities to leverage Fnatic's global direct fan base of 35m+
  • Review and commit to development timelines with the Program Lead, ensuring products are brought to market on time and on budget
  • Work closely with the D2C team to optimise the customer experience, supply chain management and ultimately growing stronger direct relationships with our customers
  • Review new distribution channels to expand Gear's reach where this makes sense alongside a primary D2C strategy
  • Oversee product research, working closely with our High Performance Unit as well as external focus groups to identify user pain points and identify future consumer needs
  • Ensure a strong integration with Marketing to create impactful product launches and ongoing campaign beats
  • Take an active role in the ongoing development of the Gear team as a mentor and leader, setting meaningful objectives and growing their overall capability
