Head of Social & Community

As Head of Social & Community at Fnatic, you’ll help build and lead a team amplifying our brand, products, commercial partners and players across multiple social channels, as well as build loyalty across a range of online communities. You'll develop a strong understanding of the Fnatic fan, and through your knowledge of the nuances of each platform and its audience, build specific strategies to best grow our following. You’ll be a data ninja, able to measure the impact of social campaigns and ensure we continually improve at what we do. Your mission is to:

  • Devise and own a social/community strategy that enhances Fnatic's positions at the pinnacle of esports performance
  • Grow Fnatic’s social channels through engaging content creation and execution, that reflects the Fnatic brand and tone of voice
  • Mentor and manage a team of channel/platform owners, setting appropriate goals and taking an active interest in their wellbeing
  • Resource the team accordingly to meet social needs across multiple global markets, cultivating a pool of talented freelancers where necessary
  • Establish a reputation of excellence for Fnatic social, and drive a culture of delivery and high performance
  • Constantly seek out new ways to optimise channel performance as well as explore new channels to launch
  • Ensure effective calendar management and faultless execution of committed deliverables
  • Work with the Editorial Lead to develop clear social guidelines for use on a range of channels
  • Test, monitor and report back on social and community initiatives, sharing insights and feedback internally
  • Work closely with the Studios creative teams to create memorable assets that reflect popular culture and drive engagement
  • Build relationships to enable a direct-to-talent communication experience with the community, and support the Creators team in demonstrating Fnatic's ability to build clout for contracted talent
  • Understand obligated deliverables from game publishers and our commercial partners and bring them to life on social in an innovative way
  • Collaborate closely with our Marketing teams to create campaigns across our various activities, masterminding the storytelling experience of our lifestyle
  • Act as a gatekeeper for what goes live on our social channels to ensure consistency and quality, as well as establishing sound moderation practices for community-led contributions
  • Support talent acquisition efforts as required, leading on candidate assessment and providing appropriate feedback

We're looking for:

  • Obsession with all things social. You know the big platforms deeply, as well as the next big thing
  • In-house experience, managing social campaigns for a global brand
  • Previous line management experience, and ability to get the best out of a range of personalities
  • Knowledge of the social performance metrics that count and how to measure them, and a track record of having delivered associated growth previously
  • A sense of urgency and drive to over-deliver
  • Previous oversight of multiple channels/platforms, and ability to get the best outcomes for multiple stakeholders
  • An interest in esports and understanding of gaming culture
  • A love of start-up environments, appreciating that it is no normal 9-5
  • Exceptional written and oral communication in English, other languages desirable
  • A flexible and resilient approach
