Product Marketing Manager (NFTs/In-game Items)

Web3 is only just getting started, and gaming will continue to be a pivotal driving force for the adoption and utilisation of its technologies by the mainstream. At Fnatic, we've been a part of virtual economies for decades selling in-game items bought and played by hundreds of millions globally. As a Product Marketing Manager for virtual goods and NFTs, you'll be taking ownership over our digital goods strategy as we rapidly grow our presence inside the metaverse. You will have an ear to Discord listening for exciting concepts, incredible artists, and constantly seeking out new mechanisms to deepen our relationships with our fans, gaming community, as well as the wider world. You'll deliver this through both in-game offerings, the development of Fnatic-owned propositions, and through collaborations with brands and artists. In an area with extensive possibilities, you'll need to be comfortable venturing into unchartered territory but will get to lead on a part of our business with hefty potential to be a significant contributor to Fnatic's future growth.

Your mission is to:

  • Define the product strategy for achieving NFT and digital item objectives
  • Ideate, plan, and execute successful marketing concepts to drive demand for virtual goods
  • Manage existing relationships with game publishers, and ensure the Fnatic brand is deployed properly inside games
  • Lobby publishers to create new revenue opportunities for Fnatic inside games
  • Brief marketing on new products and promotion opportunities that drive purchases
  • Work with Apparel and Gear colleagues to identify opportunities for digital collaborations
  • Continually monitor developments in the blockchain, NFT and gaming space to always be on top of possibilities
  • Seek out open marketplaces/games where Fnatic can create digital items
  • Analyse market data and utilise insights to prioritise new products/improvements
  • Come up with concepts with digital experiences that can enhance our ecommerce offering, and work with our D2C and Tech teams to execute
  • Work closely with brand partners in crypto to understand new ways in which to work together and bring the partnership to life

We're looking for:

  • Demonstrable passion for crypto and NFT technologies (either professional or personal projects)
  • A data native able to derive insights from numbers with ease
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity, and shaping strategy in a nascent area
  • Innovative mindset and ability to articulate a future vision
  • Strong understanding of monetisation in digital properties, and the relevant metrics to monitor
  • Solid marketing fundamentals, and experience working with marketing/creative teams to deliver feature-led campaigns
  • A sense of urgency coupled with excellent organisation and time management
  • Problem solving capability and ability to proactively identify potential blockers
  • Someone in touch with trends in youth culture, gaming hardware and esports
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication in English, other languages desirable
