Fnatic CSGO welcomes nicoodoz & roeJ
Over the last few weeks, we’ve provided several updates on the direction of Fnatic CS:GO, and made many changes not only to our Pro Squad, but also our Academy lineup in Fnatic Rising. We’d like to start by formally welcoming both Maze, who will serve as Rising’s IGL, as well as Volt, who joins as a new rifler. They’re already off to a fiery start in the WePlay Academy League S4, and we can’t wait to see what more they can show, and to see them develop and grow under their tenure under Fnatic.
In earlier updates, we stated our intent to build the future of our Pro Squad around Mezii and Krimz. Krimz needs no introduction: a Fnatic legend by any definition of the word, who is more Black and Orange now than he ever has been, and continues to show and demonstrate why he’s at the top of the game. Mezii joined in August of 2021, and quickly showed himself as a reliable, confident player, as well as a strong leader within the server. Mezii will serve as the team’s IGL as we head towards our next competitive event, and we’re happy to see his continued growth under Fnatic.
That leaves the remaining three players. We’re currently in the process of trialing for our 5th and final part of the puzzle, and are taking the time to find the perfect fit for this crucial role. Whilst we keep a sharp eye on the transfer market and aim to fufill this role soon, today we’re ready to announce two more permanent additions to the Pro squad roster.
We’re excited to welcome both Nico ‘nicoodoz’ Tamjid & Fredrik ‘roeJ’ Jorgensen as core members of our Fnatic Pro Squad on multi-year contracts. Both hailing from Copenhagen Flames, they’ve proven themselves as explosive and confident underdogs across their respective careers, with confident showings as they erupted into tier 1 CSGO at key events recently including the PGL Major & Pinnacle Cup 3. Under Fnatic, we’ll grow these already impressive skills using our proven HPU and help Nico and Fredrik reach their full potential within the game.
Nicoodoz is the next big thing out of Denmark. A young, promising AWP’er who has skill- and mindset to become one of the best in the world in his position. With a background in elite youth basketball nicoodoz knows that it takes hard work and sacrifice to reach your goals. He had this to say about joining the Black & Orange:
Moving forward, i'm excited to announce that i have joined such a legendary organisation as Fnatic and im eager to get started with my new teammates, and the people behind them!
Im confident this is the perfect place for me as a player to continue developing and achieving my new goals together with Fnatic. I want to be the best and so does Fnatic.
I have been given a huge opportunity and i will make sure to work extremely hard to show my gratitude!
Bringing some more firepower from the same CPH Flames roster, roeJ joins as a rifler/entry fragger, bringing a consistent ability in entry-fragging to the squad. We believe both him and Nico will fit into the teams chemistry and dynamic perfectly. He had this to say about his arrival in Fnatic:
Today begins a new chapter in my CSGO career as I say goodbye to Copenhagen Flames. We've had an insane year with results i could never imagine going in to the team 1 year ago. I want to give huge thanks to everyone behind Copenhagen Flames
and the team. I wish the best for my team and everyone there.
On that note I'm super thrilled to finally say that I have joined Fnatic and I can't wait to get to work with the guys here. I think the dynamics of personality and playstyle together with Fnatic as an organization, will workout amazing. There is going to be some new challenges and a lot of work ahead and I'm going to give everything I can to bring Fnatic and myself as a player to the heights of competitive CSGO.
Please join us in giving both Nico & Fredrik a huge & very warm welcome to the Black & Orange, and we hope you’re as excited as we are to see them in action soon. Stay tuned for more updates in the future as we piece together the final parts of this exciting roster.
