Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson steps away from Fnatic CS roster
After almost 12 years in Black and Orange, Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson is stepping away from Fnatic’s CS roster.
Few players have shaped Fnatic Counter-Strike as deeply as Freddy. Since joining the organisation in 2014, he has been part of some of the most important chapters in our history, helping define an era of Counter-Strike that will forever be associated with the Fnatic name.
Across his time with the organisation, Freddy has represented Fnatic with rare consistency, professionalism and competitive resilience, while always remaining unmistakably himself: calm under pressure, quietly funny, fiercely competitive and deeply respected by everyone who has shared the server, stage or practice room with him.
His achievements include:
- 2414 Maps played for Fnatic
- 4282 Days in Black and Orange
- 2x Major Titles
- 21 notable trophies
- 3x IEM Katowice titles
- 5x HLTV Top 20 appearances
- Longest Serving player in Fnatic History
… But numbers alone cannot fully capture what KRIMZ has meant to Fnatic.
For more than a decade, Freddy has been a constant presence through different rosters, different eras, different versions of Counter-Strike and different generations of fans. In a scene where careers often move quickly and loyalty is rare, his connection to Fnatic has become part of the identity of the club itself.
Freddy’s time in Black and Orange has been defined not only by trophies and iconic performances, but by the way he carried himself: calm under pressure, relentlessly competitive, trusted by teammates, respected by opponents, and loved by fans.
Speaking on Freddy’s impact, Team Manager Andreas “Samme” Samuelsson said:
“4282 days in the Black & Orange family. An era at Fnatic is coming to an end with your departure. Your professionalism and consistency over all these years have been unmatched.
Having worked together for over a decade, it has been an absolute privilege to see your growth as a player, but more importantly as a person. You will be deeply missed, everything from your calmness in-game and true winning mentality, to your amazing friendship and jokes outside of the server.
The memories we created through both the ups and the downs will stay with me forever, and it is something I will always be incredibly grateful for. An emotional goodbye - I really hope you go and smash whatever you do next. I will cheer for you.
You are not just a legend in Fnatic; you are one of the true icons of CS history.”
Freddy’s influence has also been felt by the current generation of Fnatic Counter-Strike. Reflecting on his time alongside KRIMZ, IGL Rodion “fear” Smyk said:
“For me and for the entire CS scene, this is very sad news. Your contribution to the game and to esports as a whole cannot be overstated. Thank you for all the emotions, memories, and unforgettable moments you gave to millions of people around the world.
I am truly proud to have had the opportunity to meet you in person. I still remember watching your games for the first time and witnessing the incredible dominance of Fnatic. You were one of the players who inspired an entire generation of fans and future professionals.
Thank you for teaching me over the last 1.5 years, for sharing your experience with me and the boys. You were always open to any conversation, always willing to help, and it was a pleasure spending time with you on the server. I genuinely enjoyed every moment we shared.
I wish you nothing but happiness, success, and good health in everything that comes next - and beat your own Tough Viking record.
The king of all kings - thank you for everything.”
Fnatic Chief Gaming Officer Patrik “cArn” Sättermon added:
“From everyone at Fnatic, Thank you for everything Freddy. The whole organisation wishes you the best wherever your career takes you next. We have a saying here at Fnatic, and nobody has embodied it more than you: Once Fnatic, #AlwaysFnatic”
Freddy has given this organisation moments, memories and standards that will remain part of who we are. His legacy is not only in the trophies lifted or the records set, but in the example he leaves behind for every player who wears Black and Orange after him.
From everyone at Fnatic: thank you, Freddy.
#AlwaysFnatic
