LOL | 2020 Management Update
Going into 2020, Javier ‘Dardo’ Zafra leads our League of Legends department as Team Director with Alexander ‘LocoEX’ Hugo acting as team manager.
Joining our Head Coach, Alfonso ‘Mithy’ Rodriguez will be Assistant Coach, Carlos ‘Aagie’ Cuenca and Strategic Coach Marius ‘Veigar v2’ Aune.
After a strenuous review of 2019, we come into the League of Legends season this year with long-term planning in mind. Coming in to spearhead this directly - for both our LEC and UKLC operations - will be Javier ‘Dardo’ Zafra.
Zafra returns to Esports for the first time in almost two years. Before venturing into his own direction, the Spaniard worked first as CEO during Origen’s inception before going onto become Director of Operations at H2k.
Having such a strong business background to his career, it has been clear from the start that we now and will continue to have clearer processes and democracy in our League of Legends operation, which will allow creativity exactly where needs be.
Joining him in management will be Alexander ‘LocoEX’ Hugo, who arrives having co-founded the esports organisation, PENTA, whilst most recently having run the League of Legends news outlet, The Shotcaller.
In a video introduced by Fnatic founder, Sam Mathews, Zafra also announced that two analysts will be working beside our head coach, Alfonso ‘Mithy’ Rodriguez. Carlos ‘Aagie’ Cuenca returns to Fnatic after two years away, this time as our assistant coach. Marius ‘Veigar v2’ Aune comes into a full time analyst position after initially helping midlane coaching last year.
With Zafra coming in as Team Director of League of Legends, Jan ‘Careion’ Hoffman will now work entirely on his role within Team Operations.
More news about our European Regional League team Fnatic Rising comes tomorrow.
Watch the full video with Sam and Javier, where they’ll break down how and why we’re going to return to the very top.
At Fnatic, we're thinking longterm.
