LOL | UK Roster Announcement

Published: 07 Jan 2019

As part of our long-term partnership with Riot Games, which was announced in our involvement with the rebranded EU LCS, LEC, we will be taking part in the UK regional league run by LVP UK during 2019 and beyond.

This marks the return of a second Fnatic League of Legends team, which we last saw with our Academy line-up that eventually reached promotion from the Challenger Series in Spring 2017.

We have always believed in the use of a second team with the likes of Yasin ‘Nisqy’ Dinçer going onto incredible things recently and especially Mads ‘Broxah’ Brock-Pedersen, who has gone onto become no less than a Fnatic legend in our first team.

As an organisation founded in London, we take a lot of pride being based in the United Kingdom. It is a delight that we can now be present in the UK esports scene in one of our biggest esports titles.

With this in mind, our UK League of Legends team will consist of four UK residents as we aim to prove we can be the pride of Britain!

Jordan ‘Shikari’ Pointon and Tom ‘Prosfair’ Willis arrive having most recently won the Forge of Champions 2018 Summer Grand Finals with Misfits Academy, and they will take the mantle as our toplaner and support respectively.

Matthew ‘xMatty’ Coombs will join Prosfair in the botlane as our newest AD Carry having most recently played for Gentside in France.

Daniel ‘Dan’ Hockley will be a name already known to Fnatic fans, and the English jungler returns to the Black and Orange two years after playing for the previous iteration of Fnatic Academy.

Our only import will play in midlane, where famed Felix ‘MagiFelix’ Boström comes in with immense promise even at his young age. The Swede has found recent fame having dominated the top of the solo queue ladder and already having represented Movistar Riders at EU Masters and YouthCrew Esports in the TCL.

Whilst at Movistar Riders, MagiFelix worked with Alejandro ‘Jandro’ Fernández-Valdés who now becomes our UK LoL team’s head coach. Whilst making a name for himself in Spain, Jandro worked closely with Luis ‘Deilor’ Sevilla, who coached Fnatic LoL during our legendary 18-0 split in 2015.

Between each lane and Jandro behind them, we believe we have built a team worthy of representing Fnatic in our home country.

Michael ‘Garki’ Bolze, who has been in Fnatic League of Legends’ setup for several years now will act as the UK team’s manager.

With the roster and management now settled, we will be coming to you with more incredibly exciting news concerning the team in the coming month, so keep your eyes peeled!
