Showmatch Rules
Overview
- The Megsoundslikeegg x Jack Link's Invitational, sponsored by Jack Link’s, is an invitation-only showmatch (the “Showmatch”).
- Teams will consist of five players (individually a “Participant” and together a “Team”), one of whom will be designated captain and will be the main point of contact with the showmatch organisers.
- Participants may stream the Showmatch with the permission of the Showmatch administrators. Such permission should be sought by contacting Fnatic Ltd (“Fnatic”) on the Showmatch Discord or emailing community@fnatic.com.
- The Showmatch is a one (1) day event, Valorant showmatch. The Showmatch will consist of 2 teams playing in a Best-of-Three match against each other.
- The Showmatch prizes are:
1st place (5 winners):
- 1x month supply of Jack Link's
- 1x Jack Link's hoodie
- 1x Fnatic Gear Ministreak Keyboard
2nd place (5 winners):
- 1x month supply of Jack Link's
- 1x Fnatic Gear Ministreak Keyboard
- To qualify for the showmatch, Participants must;
- play on their main Riot account
- be at least 18 years old as of 9 June 2023
- be resident of EMEA as of 9 June 2023 (such that they will play the showmatch from a location based in an EMEA country)
- Participants will be invited to a Discord for centralised communication prior to and during the showmatch.
- Employees of Riot, Jack Link’s and all associated companies are not allowed to participate in this showmatch.
- Fnatic and Jack Link’s are the sole sponsors of the Megsoundslikeegg x Jack Link's Invitational. Participants agree that their inclusion in the showmatch is as an individual and must not reference, tag, or promote 3rd party sponsors in social media posts or other forums, either directly or indirectly.
Rules
1. General Rules
1.1. Showmatch
The Megsoundslikeegg x Jack Link's Invitational is an invitation-only showmatch for Valorant, hosted by Fnatic and played on PC. The showmatch is limited to players who are residents or citizens of the EMEA.
1.2. Administration
Everybody who is authorized by Fnatic or Jack Link’s to administer the Megsoundslikeegg x Jack Link's Invitational Showdown based on its rules and regulations will be called an "Admin". In the following, the collection of all Admins will be called the "Administration".
1.3. Participants and Commitment
1.3.1. Every Participant must:
- have a valid Riot Account;
- be at least 18 years old as of 9 June 2023
- be resident of EMEA as of 9 June 2023 (such that they will play the showmatch from a location based in an EMEA country)
- not be employees of Jack Link’s, Riot or their associated companies.
1.3.2. By participating in the Megsoundslikeegg x Jack Link's Invitational, Participants acknowledge they will, without limitation, comply with the showmatch Rules, Riot’s Competitive Rules and with the statements and decisions made by the Administration.
1.3.3. Every Participant acknowledges the right for the Administration to modify the rules and regulations for adjustments at any time without notice and if necessary overrule those to ensure fair play and integrity throughout the showmatch.
1.3.4. Every Participant must be respectful towards Admins and other Participants. Insults and unfair or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated and will be punished in accordance with these rules.
1.3.5. Every Participant must join the required Discord server in order to be registered for the showmatch. The link to the Discord server will be provided to participants before the start of the showmatch.
1.3.6. Every Participant has to try to win every round of the showmatch. Purposefully losing for any reason is strictly forbidden.
1.3.7. Vulgar, racist, sexist or otherwise offensive player names are forbidden. This will be at the sole discretion of the showmatch Admins.
1.3.8. Every Participant acknowledges the right for the Administration to edit players’ names if names are deemed unfit for display.
1.3.9. Every Participant in the Megsoundslikeegg x Jack Link's Invitational Showdown consents to the collection of footage, photo and audio material displaying or voicing them during the showmatch to be stored and used for announcements, website content and other publications by Fnatic and Jack Link’s unrestricted and unlimited in terms of time and place.
1.4. Communication
1.4.1. All communication between Participants and the Administration has to be held in English at any time and at any stage of the showmatch.
1.4.2. The Administration may only be contacted via the following e-mail address: community@fnatic.com or the showmatch Discord. This helps Admins to coordinate as a team and work faster on issues. It will be the sole responsibility of Fnatic to manage communications on behalf of the Administration between Participants and the Administration. Any other form of communication shall be ignored.
2. Format & Schedule
2.1. Event Formats
2.1.1. The pre-event will take place on 10 June 2023. It will consist of two Deathmatches on Valorant where the team captains will compete against each other to qualify for the final Showmatch. (the “Pre-Event”).
2.1.2. The Showmatch is a one day, Valorant showmatch on 11 June 2023. The Showmatch will consist of the 2 qualifying teams from the Pre-Event, playing in a Best-of-Three match against each other.
Teams will consist of five players (individually a “Participant” and together a “Team”), one of whom will be designated captain and will be the main point of contact with the showmatch organisers.
2.2. Score Metrics
2.2.1. The pre-event winners are determined by the first two players listed on the ending leaderboard.
2.2.2. The first Team to win the majority of the three matches will be crowned the Showmatch winner.
2.3. Registration
All Participants have to sign up on Typeform. Once participation in the event has been agreed upon between the Participant and Fnatic, Fnatic will send the Team Captain a link to the Showmatch Discord. There is no entry fee.
2.4. Schedule
2.4.1. The pre-event will run on 10 June 2023 starting at 14:00 BST and ending at 15:00 BST (the “Pre-Event Window”).
2.4.2. The Showmatch will run on 11 June 2023 starting at 14:00 BST and ending at 18:00 BST
(the “Showmatch Window”).
2.5. Showmatch Restrictions
Participants must commit to playing the entire Showmatch. Squad Participants must remain the same for the entirety of the Showmatch to ensure a level playing field. If Participants can no longer participate once the Showmatch has started, the Administration will suggest next steps and the Participant may risk forfeiting their whole Team. This is at the Administration’s sole discretion.
3. Match Times
3.1. Match Times
Each game will be played at a time within the Showmatch Window to be determined by the Administration in their sole discretion.
3.2. Rescheduling / Postponing
Matches cannot be postponed or rescheduled to another date or time unless determined by the Administration at its sole discretion for any reason.
3.3. Punctuality
If one Team is not ready to start at the official match time, the Admins in their sole discretion may disqualify the Team from the Pre-Event or the Showmatch. Admins may extend the punctuality deadline in exceptional circumstances to get the match played at its sole discretion.
4. Before the match
All Participants must join the Showmatch Discord server and check in with Showmatch staff, 30 minutes prior to the scheduled starting times. All Participants must be available at the time the rounds start.
5. During the match
5.1. Streams
5.1.1. Each Participant may live stream the entirety of their showmatch games with the permission of the Administrators. Permission should be sought through the Discord channel or by emailing community@fnatic.com.
5.3. Match Start & Restarts
5.3.1. From the time a match begins, Participants are prohibited from intentionally disconnecting from the game. If a Participant or Team disconnects intentionally after the game has started, the game will continue with the remaining players and will not be restarted.
5.3.2. A Team may request a match restart if the fairness of the game is seriously compromised by an issue outside of the players control. Matters that may lead to the match being restarted include but are not limited to:
- enemy players using 3rd party tools or software in breach of RIOT's Terms of Use; or
- if the game crashes for all players.
5.3.3. All restart requests need to be flagged to the Admin team before a restart can be actioned. Evidence to support the request must be shared and the decision on the restart will be at the sole discretion of the Admin.
5.4. Breach of Terms of Use.
If Participants are found guilty of Bug Abuse or in breach of RIOT's Terms of Use, they may face consequences including automatic disqualification. All punishment will be at the sole discretion of the Administration.
5.5. Replays
Every Participant must save their own replays of all showmatch games for at least seven (7) days. Upon request by an admin, each Participant must submit the replay to the administration within 24 hours. Failing to comply with this request may result in punishment.
5.6. Griefing
It is prohibited to intentionally negatively impact your opponent's gameplay in an attempt to sabotage their chances of winning a match.
6. After the match
6.1. Protests
Protest against any other sort of rule violation by another player can only be reported with video evidence. The protest must include a specific timestamp when the violation took place, the name of the player who committed the violation, as well as a clear description of what happened. Protests that either lack evidence or details such as timestamps and description will be discarded. All protests must be sent to an Admin via the Showmatch Discord server or through the showmatch email address: community@fnatic.com.
7. Rule Violation and Punishment
7.1. Possible Punishments
The punishments for any rule violations include but are not limited to:
- Loss of one match
- Disqualification from the Showmatch
- Disqualification from future Showmatches
- Prize Money Reduction
Punishments shall be at the Administration’s sole discretion.
8. Prize
8.1. Prize
In the showmatch:
1st place (5 winners):
- 1x month supply of Jack Link's
- 1x Jack Link's hoodie
- 1x Fnatic Gear Ministreak Keyboard
2nd place (5 winners):
- 1x month supply of Jack Link's
- 1x Fnatic Gear Ministreak Keyboard
The prizes are as stated only, Fnatic will not pay out the cash value of the prizes as an alternative.
8.2. Claiming the Prize
- There is a maximum of 10 x Winner(s) for the Prize Draw (Winner(s)) and 1 x Prize per Winner.
- The Winner will be contacted by Fnatic via email by an official representative of Fnatic.
- The Winner will be notified within 7 days of the Close Date.
- Winner(s) must acknowledge that they wish to receive the Prize within 3 days of Fnatic’s notification and (if requested) evidence that they are an Eligible Entrant to Fnatic’s reasonable satisfaction.
- The Prize is open to entrants with a country of residence listed in the Shipping Countries table.
The prize will be dispatched by Fnatic within 30 days from the date that a Winner acknowledges that they wish to receive a Prize, to the relevant contact details provided by the Winner.
