Apex Update 3

Hello and welcome to Apex Update 3!

Today at 3am EST we had a 6 match series. First 3 games on Broken Moon and last 3 on Storm Point.

I will be leaving a summary of each game and a series summary at the end for you to skip to if you want.

Match #1 Broken Moon:

An unfortunate start running into SRZ and tanking a lot of health while other teams like TSJ got to setup. Thankfully teams like RC were able to get a lot of kills that weren't us, putting us in a better position on the scoreboard (based off placement). Our fight with SRZ came to a standstill while NFX were pressuring us from a different angle and RIG on our other side and the storm right behind them. Then a huge 4 team fight in middle leaving Soten on top and placing is even higher. At some point our side pressures were gone (Unfortunately observers were on the other side of the map) and we got some space in the next circle with SRZ still in front of us. 7 teams sit in middle now at a standstill between the buildings stations (I havent played Apex in awhile so I forgot what they're called lol). Storm closing in, kill feed filled with everyone but us! We find a little hut in the side of middle to just relax and get our hp up but we get found by SRZ as they hold us and the storm pushes and we unfortunately get eliminated and placed #7th in the match and 8th in the whole B and C groups with 2 kills for game 1.

Match #2 Broken Moon: Starting off in top middle of the map nobody pressures us from the start like SRZ this time. But we do push TIE and they immediately back off and get tanked by Arneb from the side as we get away scott-free. A good team fight won against RIG eliminating them and giving us 3 clean kills to start us off and putting us #5 in the B and C groups and in control of a good section of the circle at top right of the map. #1 team gets eliminated #14th in the match giving a lot of chances for everyone to take #1 including us! Storm circle moves down, kicking us out of our spot and forcing us to go through a 3 squad team fight. But before we move SRZ hit our spot unfortunately eliminating us once again but making it close leaving only Rye alive. This lost team fight sets us back to #9th in the tournament.

Match #3 Broken Moon: SRZ and TIE go for a push in our top middle spot. Lible pops off with a 2 piece to start us off and Yuka with another! (I don't know from which team cause their names are in Japanese and the observer was not on them). This leaves us tied for 7th in the series. Kernel gets a beautiful out of the air pick on LFT's Axis. SRZ's pressure has been replaced by RIG from behind. Lible tries to go on a chase but theres too much util. RC fly into our building and util and shots go back and forth with no kill. Lible gets a down with a grenade as they try to get RC who tried to flee outiside and Lible gets so close with the final RC kill but can't quite make it happen. RC do end up getting eliminated by MTR after trying to take cover on the edge of storm not knowing MTR was right next door. We push MTR, they throw a wall down and we spray but only get 2 knocks before they teleport away. After gettng kicked out by RIG, we take our top middle spot again (coincidently where final circle is). Lible gets a kill on NFX's Lykq. We move up to #5 in the series. GHS is stuck in a building we're holding but they have (and I mean the storm must be off of them by a pixel) barely enough room to stay. GHS tp through the wall and win the team fight placing us #5th and almost beating the #1 team. Match #3 boosts us all the way up to #7 in the series with 8 placement points snd 10 elimination points.

Match #4 Storm Point: A very slow start with new teams surrounding us and no pushes. Even in mid-game we sit right abibe the 8 squad team fight without making contact. After about 10 minutes we have a long range team fight againt RIG and win! Yuka gets 1, Kernel gets Mo-Mon and Yuka gets the final kill on Curiharaa! Huge fight win against #4 in the series and boosts our 18 points to 22! We go back to quiet and playing for placement. Kill feed went dark for a bit and so did observing but we lost a team fight ahainst Zero One and placing #8th placement, #6th in match and tied for #8th in the series with 25 points.

Match #5 Storm Point: Another quiet start with no pushes from or against RC, TW or SBI. Mid-game now, we find ourselves middle of circle and right next to the next one. LFT and TIE fight right in front of us. With the help of CR later in the game we eliminate TIE. As we fight LFT CR's Obly comes in with a flank and takes down Lible. Yuka takes down both LFT's Izzxxv and ST's Gqzeln (What are these names in APAC 😭). Kernel gets the final kill to finish if ST AKA Soten. CR's SangJoon takes down Yuka leaving Kernel against the world and he gets a knock before getting taken down by CR's KaronPe. Placement #7th, Match #5th and series #5th.

Match #6 Storm Point: Storm Point is Fnatics slow starter because yet another slow and quiet start. No pushes from or against them. We get full control of Antenns with no teams even close. Unfortunately, only a little bit of Antenna is in circle so we'll be forced off our advantage area to play for placement. We go dead quiet. 10 minutes since FNC was last seen including outlines. An off camera team fight against Arneb doesnt go our way with Yuka getting the only down on an NFX player 4rufa before dying and placing #14th. Match placement tied for 14th. Series placement #9th.

Fnatic is tied for 7th in the tournament with Group A's Kinotrope gaming. If match 6 didnt go so poorly Fnatic likely would've been top 5 above SBI who had placed #1 in the series.

Group B vs C summary: Fnatic had a very slow and quiet start on Broken Moon in match one with 3 placement points and 2 kill points landing them in 7th. Game 2 we tried to play aggressive but failed with 1 placement point and 3 kill points landing us in 13th. Game 3 went much better with the same aggro style - 4 placement points and 5 kill points landing them in 5th. Storm Point was extremely quiet from us throughout the whole 3 matches. Match 4 wasn't terrible with 2 placement points and 5 kills points. Match 5 was also good with 3 placement pointd and 5 kills points landing us in 7th. Game 6 is where everything went wrong with a 14th finish, 1 placement point and 0 kill points. Our overall series standing was #9th with 34 points and finishing us off tied for 7th with 77 points in the tournament.
