Radiant is a league of its own

The ranking system in Valorant is one of the best (if not the best) in modern games, but I think it has 2 major problems from my experience.

Idk if others may say that it has other problems like smurfs, honestly I was placed in Iron2 and worked my way up to Immo3 facing smurfs and while it is a struggle to go against, I do not consider it as a major problem.

The biggest problems are the Matchmaking and Radiant Elo: Matchmaking is a topic that involves every Elo and it has many parameters to talk about so I won’t be covering it in this post.

Radiant Elo is a major problem for Immortal3 players that want to reach Radiant since it is a League of its own, and once you reach it you won’t struggle to get there anymore if you put enough hours in an Act.

I’ve first came across this problem the first time I reached Immo3 and started playing with someone that reached Radiant 2 acts before via 5stack with Irons.

At first I couldn’t notice anything different than usual, but as we split up I saw that he was maintaining a high elo (about 500rr) even tho he was losing most of his games, saying around 40% winrate while I was down Immo2 with the same games and a slightly better winrate (50%). Even tho he reached Radiant and therefore his hidden MMR was higher than mine, he was averaging 7th/8th almost every game still losing -14/13 and winning 21+, while me and my friends with a higher winrate we would drop if not completely constant and stay the same if we were, and it isn’t about mentality since he was toxic and racist to everyone.

This was then confirmed later this month by someone on twitter showing the stats from his profile, having 40% winrate and still being radiant since he would play 10 or more games a day.

Tbf at this point we should all just start to 5stack to Radiant until they update the system, cuz rn hidden MMR is ruining a lot of fun for me and many others
