Beef Mode Arena 1v1 Tournament Rules

Overview

  • The Beef Mode Arena 1v1 Tournament, powered by Jack Link’s, is a one (1) day, open CS:GO tournament which will be played on PC on a custom Fnatic x Jack Link’s 1v1 map (the “Tournament”).
  • There will be up to 256 participants in the Tournament who will act as the main point of contact with the Tournament organisers (the “Participant”).
  • Participants may stream the Tournament with the permission of the Tournament administrators. Such permission should be sought by contacting Fnatic Ltd (“Fnatic”) on the Tournament Discord or emailing community@fnatic.com.
  • The Tournament prizes are as follows:
    • 1st place will receive the following for themselves and one (1) guest:
      • VIP Tickets for the PGL Major Antwerp 21 - 22 May 2022 (the Event)
      • Round Trip economy flights (from an EAA country or the UK) to Antwerp for the Event
      • A hotel room in Antwerp for the night of 21 May 2022
    • 2nd place will receive the following for themselves and one (1) guest:
      • VIP Tickets for the PGL Major Antwerp 21 - 22 May 2022
      • Round Trip economy flights (from an EAA country or the UK)to Antwerp for the Event
      • A hotel room in Antwerp for the night of 21 May 2022.
  • Please note: the prizes are as stated only, Fnatic will not pay out the cash value of the prizes as an alternative. Guests must meet the same criteria as the Participants (detailed below).
  • To qualify for the Tournament, Participants must;
    • be at least 18 years old as of 8 May 2022; and
    • be a resident of an EEA country or the UK as of 8 May 2022 (such that they will play the Tournament from a location based in an EEA country or the UK); and
    • play on their primary Steam account.
  • Participants will be invited to a Discord for centralised communication prior to and during the Tournament.
  • Employees, interns, contractors, or agents of Valve, Jack Link’s, Fnatic and all associated companies (or an immediate family member of any of the foregoing) are not allowed to participate in this Tournament.
  • Jack Link’s are the sole sponsors of the Beef Mode Arena 1v1 Tournament. Participants agree that their inclusion in the Tournament is as an individual and must not reference, tag, or promote 3rd party sponsors in social media posts or other forums, either directly or indirectly.

Rules

1. General Rules

1.1. Tournament

The Tournament is an open tournament for CS:GO, hosted by Fnatic and played on PC. The Tournament is limited to players who are18 years or older, and are residents or citizens of the EEA or UK.

1.2. Administration

Everybody who is authorised by Fnatic to administer the Beef Mode Arena 1v1 Tournament based on its rules and regulations will be called an "Admin". In the following, the collection of all Admins will be called the "Administration".

1.3. Participants and Commitment

1.3.1. Every Participant must:

  • have a valid Steam Account;
  • be at least 18 years old as of 8 May 2022;
  • be a citizen or be a resident of an EEA or UK country as of 8 May 2022; and
  • not be employees, interns, agents or contractors of Jack Link’s, Valve, Fnatic or their associated companies (or an immediate family member of any of the foregoing).

1.3.2. By participating in the Beef Mode Arena 1v1 Tournament, Participants acknowledge they will be deemed to have accepted and shall comply with, the Tournament Rules and with decisions made by the Administration.

1.3.3. Every Participant acknowledges the right of the Administration to modify the rules and regulations for adjustments at any time without notice and if necessary overrule those to ensure fair play and integrity throughout the Tournament.

1.3.4. Every Participant must be respectful towards Admins and other Participants. Insults and unfair or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated and will be punished in accordance with these rules.

1.3.5. Every Participant must join the required Discord server in order to be registered for the Tournament. The link to the Discord server will be provided to participants before the start of the Tournament.

1.3.6. Every Participant has to try to win every round of the Tournament. Purposefully losing for any reason is strictly forbidden.

1.3.7. Vulgar, racist, sexist or otherwise offensive player names are forbidden. This will be at the sole discretion of the Tournament Admins.

1.3.8. Every Participant acknowledges the right of the Administration to edit players’ names if names are deemed unfit for display.

1.3.9. Every Participant in the Tournament consents to the collection of footage, photo and audio material displaying or voicing them during the Tournament to be stored and used for announcements, website content and other publications by Fnatic unrestricted and unlimited in terms of time and place.

1.4. Communication

1.4.1. All communication between Participants and the Administration has to be held in English at any time and at any stage of the Tournament.

1.4.2. The Administration may only be contacted via the following e-mail address: community@fnatic.com or the Tournament Discord. This helps Admins to coordinate as a team and work faster on issues. It will be the sole responsibility of Fnatic to manage communications on behalf of the Administration between Participants and the Administration. Any other form of communication shall be ignored.

2. Format & Schedule

2.1. Tournament Format

  • The first player with 9 wins per game wins the match
  • Pick up Jack Link's to go BEEF MODE!
  • Write READY! in the console to start the match.

2.2. Score metrics

All matches will be a Best-of-One.

2.3. Registration

To register, all potential participants have to sign up on Challengermode. Potential participants have a check-in period of 60 minutes before the Tournament starts. The first 256 participants to ready up in time, will qualify for a spot in the Tournament on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no entry fee.

2.4. Seeding

The seeding will automatically be done by Challngermode (that means uneven matches can happen in the first rounds). Seeding will be done once all 256 participants have readied up.

2.5. Schedule

The Tournament will run on 8 May 2022 starting at 13:00 BST and will run until the completion of the Tournament on the same day (the “Tournament Window”).

2.6. Tournament Restrictions

Participants must commit to playing the entire Tournament. Participants must remain the same for the entirety of the Tournament to ensure a level playing field. If Participants can no longer participate once the Tournament has started, the Administration will suggest the next steps and the Participant may risk forfeiting the game. This is at the Administration’s sole discretion.

3. Match Times

3.1. Match Times

Each game will be played at a time within the Tournament Window to be determined by the Administration at their sole discretion.

3.2. Rescheduling / Postponing

Matches cannot be postponed or rescheduled to another date or time unless determined by the Administration at its sole discretion.

3.3. Punctuality

Matches start at the time stated on Challengermode. Each Participant will have to confirm their presence in the room before the confirmation timer runs out. Matches cannot be started earlier.

Matches can't be delayed for any reason unless the previous match ran for longer than planned.

If one Participant is not ready to start at the official match time, the Admins in their sole discretion may disqualify the Participant from the match or the Tournament. Admins may extend the punctuality deadline in exceptional circumstances to get the match played at its sole discretion.

4. Before the match

4.1. Check-In

All Participants must join the Tournament Discord server. All Participants must be available at the time the Tournament rounds start.

4.2. Map

The tournament will take place on a custom Fnatic x Jack Link’s CS:GO map, which Participants will be automatically loaded into through Challengermode.

5. During the match

5.1. Streams

Each Participant may live stream the entirety of their Tournament games with the permission of the Administrators. Permission should be sought through the Discord channel or by emailing community@fnatic.com.

5.2. Match Start & Restarts

5.2.1. From the time a match begins, Participants are prohibited from intentionally disconnecting from the game. If a Participant disconnects intentionally after the game has started, the game will continue with the remaining players and will not be restarted.

5.2.2. A Team may request a match restart if the fairness of the game is seriously compromised by an issue outside of the player's control. Matters that may lead to the match being restarted include but are not limited to:

  • enemy players using 3rd party tools or software in breach of Steam's Terms of Service; or
  • if the game crashes for all players.

5.2.3. All restart requests need to be flagged to an Admin before a restart can be actioned. Evidence to support the request must be shared and the decision on the restart will be at the sole discretion of the Admin.

5.3. Breach of Terms of Use

If Participants are found to be in breach of Steam's Terms of Service or Fnatic’s Social and Community Policy, they may face consequences including automatic disqualification as set out in section 7.

6. After the match

6.1. Reporting the score

Challengermode will report your score for all ongoing games automatically in the live bracket page on Challengermode.

6.2. Protests

Protest against any other sort of rule violation by another player can only be reported with video evidence. The protest must include a specific timestamp when the violation took place, the name of the player who committed the violation, as well as a clear description of what happened. Protests that either lack evidence or details such as timestamps and descriptions will be discarded. All protests must be sent to an Admin via the Tournament Discord server or through the Tournament email address: community@fnatic.com.

7. Rule Violation and Punishment

7.1. Possible Punishments

The punishments for any rule violations include but are not limited to:

  • Loss of one match
  • Disqualification from the Tournament
  • Disqualification from future tournaments

Punishments shall be at the Administration’s sole discretion.

8. Prize

8.1. Prize

The Tournament prizes are as follows:

    • Round Trip economy flights (from an EAA country or the UK) to Antwerp for the Event

    • VIP Tickets for the PGL Major Antwerp 21 - 22 May 2022
    • Round Trip economy flights (from an EAA country or the UK) to Antwerp for the Event
    • A hotel room in Antwerp for the night of 21 May 2022.

8.2.

The prizes are as stated only, Fnatic will not pay out the cash value of the prizes as an alternative. The winner will be responsible for all other costs associated with utilising the prize (including, without limitation, travel insurance, any COVID testing requirement and sustenance). The winner is responsible for compliance with any terms and conditions applicable to the use of the tickets, and/ or generally applicable to attendees of the Event (including without limitation ticket and venue terms and conditions).

8.3. Claiming the prize

8.3.1. Fnatic will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner through Challengermode. If a winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed their prize within one (1) day of Fnatic contacting the winner, the winner’s claim will become invalid.

8.3.2. Fnatic will instruct you to prove your eligibility via email. You will need to comply with these instructions within 24 hours or your eligibility to claim the prize will lapse.

8.3.3. No alternative prize will be offered and the prize is not transferable or sellable under any circumstances. Fnatic has no liability in relation to the prize or its use (and without limitation use of the prize is at the sole risk of the ticket holder).

8.3.4 If the Event does not occur for any reason, the prize shall be void. Fnatic has no liability to the winner if the winner cannot attend the Game (or as the case may be any rescheduled alternate to the Game) for any reason. 

8.3.5 Each winner agrees to participate in reasonable publicity as may be required by Fnatic in respect of the Tournament.

9. General

9.1. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fnatic shall have no responsibility for any losses, damages or claims incurred by any person in connection with the Tournament, including a Participant’s participation in the Tournament (or, as the case may be, a potential participant’s inability to participate in the Tournament for any reason) or receipt or misuse of any prize.

9.2. Intellectual Property

Fnatic’s name and logo are the property of Fnatic and should not be used in any manner whatsoever without the prior consent of Fnatic. Fnatic must approve in writing any statement, advertisement, press release or similar communication in any media (including any social post, blog or any other type of self-publishing platform) relating to your participation in the Tournament.

9.3. Personal Data

By entering the Tournament, you consent to the storage, transfer and use by Fnatic and its affiliates of any personal data that you supply, for the purpose of administering and managing the Tournament and the prize. Fnatic will use, process and store your personal data in accordance with the Fnatic Privacy Policy and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679.

9.4. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

9.4.1 These Tournament Rules, and all matters related to them including any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by and construed in accordance with English law.

9.4.2 Each participant irrevocably agrees that the courts of England and Wales shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with any Competition or these Competition Terms.
