Why did we move away from gaming houses

Do you remember the old Fnatic gaming house?

E.g. https://youtu.be/T6Z40pt-6R0

Good old times where player lived together and it felt more like a never ending LAN party.

Why did we stop doing this, was it a request by the players or just a change in the holy industry?

Loading...In the past, gaming houses like the old Fnatic setup were all the rage but as esports has evolved, so did the approach! Teams now opt for more bespoke performance facilities that tend to require more than most residential properties can offer. The scene is now really professionalised and Fnatic's performance facility in Berlin and the one we are preparing at our new HQ reflect that (we're excited to show it to you when completed!). With advanced training practices, the need for studio level content capture, and (importantly) improved player health and well-being in mind, we're seeing a shift towards a more balanced and focused training facility, purposefully separated from living arrangements - this provides a healthy barrier between working and living environments which is important to help encourage our players to 'switch off' when they are not required to perform at the top level whilst fulfilling their duties as a Fnatic Pro. So, while we may miss those good old times in the old Fnatic facilities, the industry has grown, and positive changes have been made to optimise player performance and improve their working + living environments.

Loading...Players have lives outside of leagues, they have partners and stuff and of course, like anyone they probably enjoy their own privacy and activities in their free time.
