Road to ALGS Part 1: Circuit, points and why Fnatic is the best team

Hello everyone !

As you might know (or not), our apex team based in Japan is heading toward the ALGS playoffs, and I thought it would be good to make a (not so) short post about the circuit, the point system and obviously why we're the best team and we're going to win it.

Quickly, the ALGS (stands for Apex Legends Global Series) is made of 5 regions :

• APAC (Asia and Pacific) North

• APAC South

• EMEA (Europe and Middle East and Africa)

• North America

• South America (not a Pro League but still a region on its own)

Each region is made of 30 teams, divided in 3 groups, and the matches are Group vs Group. It's a triple round robin, played in "match serie", consisting of 6 games.

Each team will play 6 match series, so a total of 36 games.

Next step is the regional finals, with the 20 best teams of the regular season which will compete in match point format : first to 50 points needs to get a Top 1 to win it all (points depend of the number of kills and your position in the game at the end, a bit too complex to explain here, so it'll be for an other time).

As I've said before, we're the best out there so you won't be surprised when I tell we won the APAC North League Split 1 (not the finals, mistakes were made that day but you can't always be at your best). But what's more to it ? Yes we won in our regional league, but what makes me so sure we'll win the playoffs against the finest teams of the other regions ?

First of all, because we have a sick jersey, and I highly recommend you getting one. Probably one of the best sport apparel I've ever bought. Get your here.

But the real thing is that we were the first to achieve something. Something that was in the rules since the existence of ALGS, but so difficult that so far no one, even the best teams of the previous years (and trust me there were some really good ones) couldn't manage to achieve. ALGS rules state that :

In the Pro League Regular Season and the Winners Bracket Finals of the PLQ, LCQ, Split 1 and 2 Playoffs, and Championship events, bonus points can be earned by Teams according to the following criteria:

• One (1) bonus point will be awarded if the Team that finished in 1st place has a margin of victory of fifty (50) points or greater over the 2nd place Team.

• One (1) bonus point will be awarded to any Team that wins 50% or more of their matches in a match series. For each match won over the 50% threshold, that Team will be awarded an additional bonus point.

And we did it ! On the 4th of February, during the match serie Group A vs Group C, we managed to win 3 of the 6 games played that day (game 1, 3 and 6). A never done before feat, allowing us to get this precious bonus point. All of this while averaging 10 kills per game (there are 60 players in the lobby, so max 57 kills (yes you can revive players but let's keep it simple today)).

ご存じの通り日本の我らのApex部門が ALGS playoffs に出場しますので, 大会形式、ポイントシステム、そしてなぜ私たちが最強のチームでこの大会を優勝するのかについて、短く(ない)投稿をしようかと思います__

まず, ALGS (Apex Legends Global Seriesの略)は5つの地域で構成されています :

• APAC (アジアおよびパシフィック) North

• APAC South

• EMEA (ヨーロッパ、中東アジア及びアフリカ)

• North America

• South America (プロリーグは存在しませんが1つの地域として)

各地域は 30チームが3グループに分けられ、グループがそれぞれ対戦することになります. トリプルロビンの, 合計6試合です。

各チームは試合ごとに6マッチプレイしますので、合計36マッチということになります。

その次のステップが、レギュラーシーズン上位20チームがマッチポイント形式で戦うリージョナルファイナルです。 : 優勝には50ポイントに到達し、尚且つその後チャンピオンを獲得する必要があります。 (ポイントはキル数と順位によって割り振られますが、すべて説明するには余白が足りないため、また別の機会とします).

先ほど言った通り、 私たちは最強ですので、私たちがAPAC North Pro League Split 1を優勝したことは驚くべきことではありません(ファイナルではありません。 ミスは誰にでもありますし完璧な人間などいません). 大事なことは何か? APAC-Nでは勝つことができましたが、全地域から最強のチームが集まる中なぜ私たちがプレイオフで優勝できると言えるのか?

まずは, 私たちのユニフォームがとてもカッコいいからです。あなたも1つ買っておきましょう。私が今まで買った中でも ここでご購入ください.

大事なことは私たちは常に1番でありつづけるということです。 Something that was in the rules since the existence of ALGS, but so difficult that so far no one, even the best teams of the previous years (and trust me there were some really good ones) couldn't manage to achieve. ALGSのルールでは以下のようにあります:

プロリーグレギュラーシーズンおよびPLQ、LCQ、スプリット1とスプリット2のプレイオフ、チャンピオンシップイベントのウィナーズブラケット決勝では、次の基準に従ってチームがボーナスポイントを獲得します。

• 1位のチームが2位のチームに50ポイント以上の差をつけて勝利すると、ボーナスポイントを1獲得します。

• 一連のマッチの50%以上で勝利を収めたチームは、ボーナスポイントを1獲得します。閾値の50%を超えて勝利した各マッチについて、そのチームは追加のボーナスポイントを1獲得します。

And we did it ! 2月4日、グループAvsCにて, その日の6マッチ中3つでチャンピオンを獲得 (game 1, 3 and 6). 前人未到の、ボーナスポイントを1ポイント獲得しました。さらに全試合平均キル数10を記録(ロビーには60人プレイヤーがいるので最大で57キル獲得できます(勿論蘇生を含めるともっとキルできますが、今回はシンプルに数えましょう)).
