Week 1 Standings and Updates - Esports World Cup
Week 1 of Esports World Cup has come to an end as our League of Legends, MLBB and Warzone teams finished competing in their respective tournaments.
In League of Legends, things didn't go our way in our MSI revenge match-up vs Team Liquid, as they took both games in the BO3 to secure the win and end our tournament run before it truly got going. Now it's full focus on Summer Playoffs to turn things around and secure a spot at World's this Autumn.
MLBB started off strong in the first game vs Team Falcons, but following a loss to See You Soon we were left needing a 2-0 against Malaysian Seed #1 Selangor Red Giants to qualify for playoffs. Unfortunately we could only manage a 1-1 draw, leaving us out of the group and taking home a 9-12th place finish.
However, its not all doom and gloom with Warzone coming in hot over the weekend, showing their skill and potential on the server. The boys turned a lot of heads with their smart macro and aggressive plays, and in doing so created a tight run up for 1st place against Team Falcons. Coming down to the final game, Team Falcons secured just about enough points to take it all and our team left the tournament with their heads held high in 2nd place, proving they are a force to be reckoned with whilst also securing us crucial Championship points.
League of Legends 5th-8th (60 points)
MLBB 9th-12th (0 points)
Warzone 2nd 🥈 (600 points)
We'll be back for Week 4 on the 24th of July, with our Overwatch 2 team making their debut run in the EWC in Group D. In the meantime, expect to see behind the scenes content and updates! :fnatic:
