Trash talk in Esports

In the last few weeks, in the spanish LoL scene, some people were talking about trash talk in Esports due to an interview of our coach Grabbz with an spanish man (a fan of Fnatic) were he declared that KOI wasnt a Top 4 and they were gaslighting them so much. This became a problem for the koisitos (fans of KOI) that they started saying this was so disrespectful for the team, an unacceptable thing, bla bla bla.

So I want to know, What do you think about trash talking your rivals? It is a toxic thing? Or just a thing that may get us closer to a traditional sports sphere like football (soccer) or basket?

Loading...Any sports has trashtalk and for everyone the line between funny and toxic is somewhere else. Imo its healty aslong as the majority of the target group ur trashtalking finds it funny. There wouldnt really be any rivalrys if ppl just sit and hold hands you know. And the best kind of trashtalks are the ones who are either superbacked or superbackfire. Caps saying he will make perkz believe he's at an international event. C9 Svenskerens tweetin: "scrims going good cant wait for semi's" To name 2 examples

Loading...@RenoNiiChan I feel like the rest opinion (at the moment of the trash talk) doesnt matter when you talk sht about a team but it gives the hype to see how it evolves and if the yapper will get shut

Loading...I think it's not a toxic thing when the rivals is your friend, cuz i'll take it as a jokes, and that's funny too, but it feel different if they're not

Loading...I think trash talk in LoL is over, the scene has grown too big for it to still happen. Back in the day, Skojz would throw little jabs during interviews, but she stopped because she kept getting flamed. I think no matter who trash talks, they’re going to face a wave of hate, regardless of the community. You need to have really thick skin, and most of the time it’s just not worth it in terms of the hate you get versus the hype you may generate.

Loading...To be honest, I feel that trashtalk is an important thing in a competition because it creates emotion and hype to see if the yapper will rise or fall like a pig. Also this kind of content is always entertaining for the spectators with characters of this profile like Boostio, APA, etc.
