Initial thoughts on the new vct format and locations for 2025 and beyond

Looking ahead the season stsrts with d double emlimnation in kickoff instead off a group stage + playoffs format. To me this is huge, it's a perfect way to go strait into excitment of playoffs much like lock-in was in 2023(still can't get over the finals♡)

Following on the addition of another team from ascension and now onwards causing teams in orer to compete for spots in T1 makes so much sence to me, it brings whole new teams each year with new personalities. This also helps level out leagues to an even 12, which has now allowed stage 1 and 2 to be split into indivual entities with both groups having 6 teams. I do however see the downside of this in being a teams chances for the whole year could be completly decided upon by what group they get placed in rather then champs qualification being a summery of the best of the league.

Comming to champs, from my interpretation, it seems 2 slots are for the top 2 teams of stage 2 playoffs, and the top 2 teams of champs points over the year. This is a good choice in my oppinion as it allows teams to be rewarded greater for an overall perforance in the year.

On to locations, i don't have much to say about this other than. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING BRING AN EVENT TO THE UK IM BEGGING YOU, i knowww theres been 2 homegrounds here buttt thats offseason.. pluss it was too early for me to be properaly into vct soo.......PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE......... anyways hehe♡

Loading...FNATIC ACADEMY WOULD BE JUST GREAT!!! Also I think we need more LATAM locations like Chile which has 2 great teams like Leviatan and KRU and their fans are one of the best fandoms I know

Loading...The format this year should never have existed if they had thought about it for more than 3 minutes. Such a pace is just going to kill the scene by sending your best players into burnout, so these changes are definitely welcome. I like the change to the kickoff itself. For the teams that get eliminated first (aka M8), there isn’t much of a difference, but for us, it’s better even though it’s not perfect. I also like the chosen locations, we'll see if the fans there will electrify the broadcast but I'm hype. Next, the fact that we can have an academy team is amazing, and I hope we sign one (and that we bring one back for LoL too). As for the GC, it’s cool, but Riot really needs to offer at least a bundle for the teams or allow them to plat in the T2 ligue. I’m also waiting for a Fnatic team to fully follow the scene because otherwise, I have to either follow KC or G2 or SR, and that means it’s either our rivals or NA, and I just can’t do that. So I hope we’ll have a GC team soon 🙏.
