Rant towards us, the fans!!! We need to be better

I'm making this post as a bit of a rant towards us fans, or at least some of us.

A part of the fan base has become too bitter towards Fnatic, and their love for the team has turned into hate. They're waiting for us to start losing to unleash all their venom. I understand the disappointments, we are not winning anything since 2018 and being bad internationally. I'm just as disappointed and angry, and every other synonym you can think of.

But we expect the players to always be at their best, and as fans, we should be too. We should not fall into these traps. We need to be better supporters, supporting the team until the end, not blaming a player for a loss because it's too easy.

I'm not saying we shouldn't criticize, but if we make a sh*tty play, it's normal to point it out and criticize the move. But there's no need to dwell on that play for 10 minutes because it serves no purpose and creates a bad atmosphere overall in the chat.

And I agree that blind fanaticism is not positive either, that's not what I'm saying.

But I'd prefer if we were more supportive as long as we're not eliminated. After that, we can be more critical and blame a play, coaching staff decision, or any others thing.

But blaming a player alone is ridiculous like two years ago for Winter split, some people wanted Razork head, and now he's the best jungler. Last year, it was Oscar turn, then he was our best player at MSI and carried us with his Poppy against the Asian teams.

It's a TEAM game, we don't know what's happening internally. Even when we have a move that seems troll-like, like Noah dash-in last year, there were plenty of things that happened before that where bad and lost us the game anyway, but we tend to forget everything else and only remember that last move, blaming everything on it.

Let's be supporters at the same level that we expect our players to be !!!!

Always Fnatic :fnatic:

Loading...Can't seem to reply to your comments @Franky. But yeah, I dont see any issue with criticism of the team or the players. I simply dont understand any alternative, what we congratulate them on awful performances? Looking at LoL as the most recent, what should we ignore Razork having a shocker of a playoffs, humanoid getting gapped by every mid bar against TH, getting killed walking blindly through the jgl, getting caught on the split push as he does every year. the team should be rightfully judged on their performances, as what does blind optimism do for the team, it surely doesnt affect performances either way, you think opponent fans/commentators/previous pros aren't going to call them out regardless? We should expect the best from our veterans, rookies deserve leeway, but these players are getting paid well to represent, and if they can't accept fair criticism then they're in the wrong profession. If I do a terrible job at work, guess what happens! I don't accept personal attacks, but i haven't seen any of that personally. But rightfully our players got lots of scrutiny as they played quite frankly pathetically, only Oscar and upset really showed any level of consistency. Miky had some good games, but he also lost a few. On the other games, then there is a lot of question on fnatic management, IE Csgo, Valorant etc. but no point going on them in a long text as well

Loading...@Runawaywolf I'm not going to lie, I feel like I'm having two different discussions. I say something, and you respond with something else that I didn't say before. Where did I say not to criticize? I said that when a move is messed up, there's no need to spend 10 minutes criticizing that move in the chat during the game, that's all. After the game, whether it's won or lost, we can start discussing what we think the problem is because otherwise, the atmosphere in the chat becomes even worse. My team is losing already, and I have to see messages saying the team is trash or sucks, it's the worse. And I agree we should expect more from our veterans. They need to step up in these moments. I'm the first to think there's a problem with the level Huma has shown since last year, but that doesn't mean I'm going to spend my time flaming him every time he misses a CS.

Loading...Just seems virtue signalling. We dont have as many fans as we used to, because we constantly fail. That isn't a fan problem, and we have voices in the stadiums, we always have. But none of that fixes the quality of our performances, whether its Csgo, Val, lol, apex etc. The realistic fact is fnatic is doing pretty awfully across all sports, so yeah this isn't a "supporter" issues, its an org issue.

Loading...@Runawaywolf I think you misunderstood what I meant, or maybe I didn't express myself clearly. In no way am I linking the performance of our teams to us. I'm just saying that after a defeat, here against G2, a lot of people became super toxic, and if we expect our players to always give their best, we should be too. We should support the team while they're playing rather than trash-talking them for 10 minutes over a missed move and then, when we're eliminated, asking for accounts. Because when we are playing in the chat there is people asking for that player head or that coaching staff head it's not helpfull. I don't see how that's virtue signaling

Loading...We should also be yelling at the audience, specifically in Valorant. It sounds stupid but we need to cheer on every kill.

Loading...Fully agree. The day I opened the app after our loss against G2 the community was filled with hate posts and comments on other posts. I think our CS2 team needs to step up on the aim since it sometimes looks really shaky. The coaches also need better plays. As for LoL I dont watch or play enough to have a say but I think we just keep losing fights we should win. Valorant is my main game and I think we're going from the comeback team to the comeback givers and we keep getting too comfortable. R6 hasnt had any games recently so I cant say

Loading...@Hivr In this conversation, I don't care about the team performance tbh. What I care about is that we should focus more on being supportive of our teams during competitions. Afterward, we can hold them accountabl

Loading...I hope this kind of fans stop. Because sometimes this gets a out of hand (like this kind of harassment that GrabbZ posted). I love and support your point and know that all together we can reach a point were we can be objective and supportive when talking about the team ![cb987f07-54d8-4bc2-a236-081e5759ae51.jpeg](https://cdn.fnatic.com/community/a6b5423f-9eea-4ab9-8a1b-7d575c7239f9.jpeg)
