Rekkles roleswapping to Support.

Hello it’s my first post and perhaps I’m looking for some “consolation”.

Rekkles decided to role swap to support and I fully understand the feeling, but I still hoped this day would never come, I’ve been following him in the last 7 years and I just lost my motivation to play adc and my role model.

Now, roleswapping does not mean I will forget who he is/was and I won’t stop shouting REKKKLEEEEEES when I make a penta. But I still feel lost.

Overall positive change for him, it can bring new life and lower the stress and I bet he’s gonna be great asf at it, just not a good timing when LEC team was starting to be really good.

How do you guys feel about it? Sorry for the long paragraph.

Loading...I follow rekkles since 2012, I hope he finds his place, but nowadays fnatic is big for him. We need a better ADC to be back were we belong.

Loading...Hello, can I ask if something let to this decision by Rekkles? Because just a few days before the swap he said in AMA that he wanted to co-stream MSI, but he was afraid that it might collide with team practise, meaning that at that point he still thought he will be playing on the team. He also said he found his way back home. But then out of nowhere he is swapping, it doesn't make much sense. So it seems that either he or Fnatic is being dishonest.

Loading...For me this is also a very emotional topic in the first place. I really like Rekkles, for me he just belongs to this organisation. I cried my eyes out when he left, when he came back and yesterday. A part of me is sad, that I'll never met my idol. On the other, more professional side I know that this decision wasn't an easy one. Rekkles seems so relieved in his video, so motivated and optimistic. It breaks my heart in a good and bad way. I wish him all the best and I hope that he finds his way with his change

Loading...@OnlineMEOWlone It's always tough when players move on, especially when that player has given so much to the organisation and fans over the years. This feels positive for both parties though. We're taking every opportunity to continue to build on the initial momentum gained in Spring split. There were some real positives to take from our Spring split vs Winter Split performance - that's down to all players and staff involved in the last few months, a corner has been turned but there's so much more to work on. We now owe it to everyone to continue making decisions that over time take us closer to our ultimate goal of being a top team performing consistently in our region and on the world stage! You're continued support gives us fuel on that journey.

Loading...idk bro i feel so lost that it makes no sense, if they wanna win they need team experience not to swap something each split because i dont really have hopes of some wonder type bs to happen in summer if our botlane will have new adc out of sync with advienne that we have no clue on future since rekkles is swapping to support (just wtf man)

Loading...I've just read the news and I feel really confused too. I know what kind of pressure Rekkles puts on himself to perform, and to do the best for his team; this is what pushed him to bench himself and let Bwipo/Soaz rotate for top/adc in 2018. Anyway I am not fully aware of all the situation and stuff, but my guess is that he's benched now because Advienne will keep playing? Man all these events hurt to watch, because I get a feeling that the atmosphere is unstable and things are not going so well behind the scenes. I really hope I'm wrong and this is a change for the best, but because I care so much about this team I feel a bit worried 🥺

Loading...@p0w3l1 No, the atmosphere is very stable the post split team surveys were very positive on coaching and environment. Decisions like these and others will be made to get fnatic back to no.1.

Loading...Not an Expert, but his goal and desire has Always been winning worlds. This means he doesn't see himself winning as an ADC, thus the swap. I also believe that since there are a lot of good ADC, he thinks he can be Easly swapped without losing team value... What is to consider in a team game Is that being the best doesn't make you win, but the value you bring to the team, with the team, he surely thinks he Will bring more value as a support then has an ADC. Maybe they are planning to go some senna cho'gath bot play style. In any case if he wanted to roleswap, his mental would stop him from winning as a ADC...

Loading...I can understand wanting to roleswap, but the timing is just insanely weird, isn't it? Seeing how good the team looked at the end of spring, and how great of a synregy they seemed to have - not even as players, but also just as people - this makes no sense to me personally. I understand the stress of wanting to preform well getting to you, but this roster just... needed some time man. I'm 100% convinced this team would be something to be reckoned with in summer. I mean like. Huge. It's jarring to see Rekkles just some weeks ago talking about being so hyped up after the two new teammates joined, and then 180°ing just like that. But then again I'm just a baby fan who is maybe too naïve for thinking the backstage FNC content is showing the entire truth of what goes on behind closed doors. 💁🏻‍♀️ I'm confused as to whether the internet literally bullied him into this by nitpicking his preformances, or if that's something that came pushed onto him from higher up? I feel like my dude is hard enough on himself to do this on his own terms, but then again, I can't imagine the team would just let him go haywire and just bench himself NOW and not wait for summer at least? I'm sure they realize how much potential they have? Had? Sad. Maybe some long term fans can clear this 180° up for me, because I'm genuinely very confused.

Loading...@utopija I think it’s important to understand whilst the improvement was there and the team looked much much better it still didn’t make it past 8th spot. I’m a very positive person and I did believe in the team but there is plenty of room for improvement. This move is better for both parties.

Of course our (the spectators') perspective is one that doesn't have all information of the situation behind the curtain, so all we can do is hope and trust in your expertise. As illogical as we might find it from some sort of general understanding of how teams work and a purely psychological standpoint, at the end of the day, we aren't the teams' coaches, their strategists, nor their sports psychologists. Hopefully the decisions for change turn out to be what the team needs for success without disrupting the existing progress, and all the while keeping/encouraging the level of individual play at a standard that the players themselves strive for.
