How would you fix communication/community issues

Hello everyone, Azrael here, one of the Fnatic admin. This is a duplicate of a reddit post, but I think it's good to have this discussion here too.

Given everything that's been happening in the last 24h (and for way longer) with the fan clubs and the fans being upset/disapointed/bored of promises never done (and I blame no one for that) and overall lack of communication as per the comments, I'd like to know what would be your suggestions to fix all the issues.

What I'd like to read here are examples, and not the usual "more budget" or "more communication", because that doesn't really mean anything/help with the situation. What would you do if you had more budget, what do you want to hear/see more, how would you communicate in a better way with the fans ? (keep in mind that budget isn't infinite, sadly. I wish it was, as much as you).

My goal here is for me to have an overlook of the ideas and feelings, in one place, of what the fan base expect from the org, and how to improve the situation (because let's be honest twitlongers can only go so far). We have our ideas in the team but it never hurts to hear what everyone is thinking. That said, it doesn't mean that everything that'll be said here will be done.

For a bit more context about me, I've joined the discord moderation team back in 2019, and became an admin some years ago, obviously doing stuff in discord, but also reddit and facebook and the app, and doing some tournament when needed. I am not a Fnatic employee, and I'm as upset as you when it comes to the lack of communication/interaction with the community. I come from this very community (started watching Fnatic in 2013 with LoL and CS) and I've done all of this out of passion. Trust me that if I had a magic wand to fix all of this I would (and keep in mind that I've already complained a lot internally).

Loading...**For the fan associations**, I think they should be given more material and logistical support. For example, during the LEC finals, Fnatic could step in temporarily to help them secure seats together or simply promote a joint initiative. I don’t really know how things work currently, but I assume it’s not really like that at the moment. Still, I genuinely believe that having Fnatic, directly supporting fan groups against tournament organizers would go a long way in keeping fans united rather than scattered f.e. Another issue is that despite Fnatic being an international org, all watch parties and other events are held almost only in London, making it really difficult for many to participate even if your are in Europe. **As for the app**, as a paying monthly user, I feel a bit scammed. At the start, we were promised amazing things, pro tutorials, lots of insider content, giveaways, exclusive stuff, and more, but in the end, we got one tutorial, some exclusive content for a while, and the only insider thing I remember is the jersey. The giveaways stopped a few months ago, all without explanation. The only thing left is the discount, but you don’t need that all the time. If I was told, "The subscription is just to support Fnatic, nothing more," I wouldn’t mind as much. But right now, they’re promising things and not delivering. I’m not even asking for anything crazy, I’d be happy with simple things like new emotes with the VALO players f.e., extra name colors or anything else. Just that would make me happy. Overall, the app feels abandoned, like, even some stupid thing like badges. __*Where are the basic badges for the Toronto Masters or the Stage 1 victory?*__ And it’s not like I’m asking for an in-depth explanation of the why and how. I’d just like to understand what’s going on and get out of this weird fog of uncertainty we’re in right now.

Loading...I think one of the biggest issues when talking about communication is the fact that there is no direct line between the fans and the org. As NB said we need someone who can relate more with the fans (and their little clubs like "Fnaticos", "Fnatic Dragons", "Statics", etc.) and organise the trips to cheer for the team, help out if the fans needed something in the event (like lending some flags), something like a manager that can take this kind of responsabilities. Thats what I think, if there is someone in charge of this already I think they should be more active at this point.
