Why is fnatic management so silent about major qualifier exit?

Where is Sam Mathews? Where is Carn? Where is Samuelsson? Where is Keita? Where is Carn's core team members like RossR who makes decisions about the roster changes? Its been 1 week since i made the below discussion and everyone has been hiding since then. i thought they wanted us to come and discuss in here.

https://fnatic.com/community/3905-will-sammuelson-carn-and-his-core-team-take-responsibility

Also we didn't even see a single tweet or retweet from main fnatic twitter handle(@FNATIC) regarding the failure in RMRs... Did you made FNATICCS2 to hide the failures of CS management?

Why is fnatic keeping this team? What future do you see with this CS roster with a core consisting of krimz, afro and bodyy? Are they building a team to win events or are they building a team just qualify for big events?

https://www.hltv.org/stats/teams/events/4991/fnatic?startDate=2021-07-01&endDate=2024-02-23&matchType=BigEvents

Its been 2.5 years since LAN CS returned after covid. Ever since fnatic has reached top 8 only once. They also missed out on 3 majors, IEM katowice, IEM cologne and tons of other IEM big events and all of the BLAST big events.

Can we have a complete rebuild with CS roster without the influence of Carn and his core team who are mainly focused on league and valorant ? Can we have dedicated decision makers for CS team that is currently outside of fnatic org who actually knows whats going on the scene?

Can we have a roster who are reach playoffs in every event they compete in like in end of 2019-early 2021? Can we bring in quality young players with high potential from T2 scene like mezii, brollan instead of players like dexter, afro, bodyy who were doing nothing special in T2 and definitely not gonna tear up the T1 scene? Or can fnatic bring in legit top players from top teams like they did with dennis in 2015? Its been 9 years and fnatic's didn't brought an active top player from another top 10 team since then. Can we finally have an actual investment that fnatic CEO talked about since 2022? Not the boasting about bullshit "6-figure" investment like matys for 175k when fnatic themselves sold brollan for 600K and got millions from past 2 majors?

And finally we are asking the league and valorant fans to unite against this management. Can you imagine fnatic missing 4 out of the last 6 worlds or champions and many other important tournaments? Thats whats going on in CS and still the management including Sam Mathews, Carn and his Core Team and CS Manager Samuelsson is destroying the fnatic's legacy is CS and making the fnatic brand in CS more and more irrelevant? Can we all force this management to do actual changes in management, coaching and roster to make fnatic great again in CS?

Loading...@sam Hi Sam, And what if those pieces what we have now are not the right one? Because looking back we only see multiple lost qualifiers and one tier 3 tournament won. **Poor performance of the team** This team can't compete against T1 teams, there is a huge performance difference. We have trouble against teams like 3Dmax, Preasy and even some unknown level 10 faceit teams during only qualifiers. **An organization who used to win majors!** I feel like fnatic is just sitting back and waiting hoping for difference results. Waiting until it is too late. I dont want to hear the same excuses as before. Excuses like: "players didnt want to join", "they right players were not available". **National squad to attract fans** From what I see is that this organization is losing fans and serious change is necessary, within the team or the way the organization is handling their CS2 squad. Maybe build a fanbase like back to a national (back to a swedish lineup?) squad. Because it's hard for me to see fans leaving on different social media platforms. Going back to a swedish lineup will create fans, attract sponsers and create a place where Top 1 players like Nilo will go to. The same as what fnatic did with Brollan. A team like metizport proves that its doable. And looking at the scene now, there isnt a T1 organization who is swedish. This will make fnatic special. And above that, as reality has proven fnatic can't compete with other organization to stay international. Fnatic has a lesser name (due to it's downwards spiral) and less money to spend **What are you going to do now that lost every qualifier and there is little to no T1 tournament left for this team apart from EPL?** And will you now listen to your fanbase, because we all want the same: Fnatic winning tier 1 events. An answer is really appreciated. For me and for all the fans.

Loading...@sam You are saying that its was a huge blow to lose mezii. **Then why not start to stop selling/kicking your best players the moment another org comes asking**? If G2 can keep m0nesy why can't you keep mezii. Why did your management kicked the youngest player 'nicoodoz', who was one of the 2 best players in fnatic over 3 28+ year old poorly performing players? Its just poor management from the "central team". Also why you think players don't want to join fnatic? As far as I know, fnatic is one of the most iconic CS orgs alongside NAVI? How come players don't wanna join one of the most iconic orgs like stavn and jabbi went to Astralis during their peak in Heroic? Or device and brollan joining NiP? Magisk and dupreeh joining vitality? and Or ence core leaving to an org called falcons that have no history in CS? Why is no such thing happening with fnatic? **Is it because those have CS as their priority and has some ambition to became top team and ready to invest in players as well as in management while fnatic don't?** Tell me what you think... You said building a team takes time. But its already been 3 years since fnatic went for international and you are in worst state than ever. On the first year fnatic first joined international, you had 3 quality young players with potential to go further. But within 6 months, your management kicked smooya, sold brollan to nip and benched a real IGL. Where were the true upgrades for those 3. Only 1 that you got is nicoodoz and then forced mezii to IGL. Then you had another chance to continue building with that fashr roster with niccodoz and mezii. But you kicked niccodoz and sold mezii actually gone for downgrades unlike what carn says all roster changes that he done are upgrade. At the moment I only see as matys as the younger player with potential like we had with brollan, mezii, smooya and nicoodoz. I hope kyuubii gets there too. **Now that you failed in RMR, there is no requirement for you to keep minimum 3 players. So you can actually build a team with top players and top support staff this time.** https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/251817565574266901/1210650105636593694/Capture2.JPG?ex=65eb54c5&is=65d8dfc5&hm=48a96f608877926965cb02372e9608220512d2fefe8b3b3c7d3cd5841cebf90d& Also fnatic failed in every qualifier they played this year. So much for fnatic management is waiting for open circuit to come back and EPL maybe the only big event fnatic may participate this half of the year.

Loading...@sam Please Sam, look at our legacy. we were the best team ever in cs go. Please look into how we have fallen so far behind big teams. How is it even possible that G2 is doing better than us? Can't believe my luck that when I started watching Counter-Strike, we started losing games. Still remember that flusha clutch vs Faze was one of the most memorable moments of my esport memory. Please hire a competent game leader. We will remain the same without this.

Loading...@sam Hi, first of all it's Mezii and not Mezzi. Too busy watching Valorant and LEC??? Now to the more serious stuff. It's beyond me how you can sit and say all this with a straight face. Why do you think you have problems with players not wanting to join? You've changed rosters over and over again for the last 4 years, yet you consequently failed, only 1 playoffs total. Is it then really in down to having the wrong roster, or could it be that if you truly are to build from the ground up, you need new builders? Don't you realize that your management and constant low investment scares people away? Fnatic has the worst reputation in the scene. But quite frankly, you never seemed to care, you say you do but actions say something different. Not once has the actual issue been addressed. You apologize for the results, sign a roster that's worse on paper than the last one, and say you are confident it will take you back to the top. 6 months later, cycle repeats. Have you ever even managed to make a comment on the CS team's disastrous results without mentioning LoL or Valorant? With all the bi-annual catastrophe ama:s, one would have hoped so but it's truly hard to recall. Good luck watching Valorant and I'll see you after next major cycle when you act surprised that the next roster failed too (wonder why). All the Best, Pontus

Loading...@sam With all due respect Sam, i think you are not getting our point. All CS fans know that this game is way harder than the other ones to reach a high level due to its structure, we can see that. And even tho we know if you sign 5 superstars like Astralis, it may not click that superteam and be trash. We know that, i can assure you. We can even understand having krimz and matys (mixture of promising young talent with shit tone of exp in krimz) but what we dont understand is that the way of reaching to the top is keeping an awper that puts 0.83 rating in RMR, signing an IGL that has been igl for months in t2 and it is clear he lacks experience in leading a team, and even signing kyubii who wasnt even a top performer in t2. We are not asking for the big dogs in cs because is obvious, but dont try to sell to us the idea that this team was formed to break the top 10 when only 2 players from the current roster are worth keeping. We all know in several transfer windows we had the chance to form a good line up, we just choose poorly. We can understand the idea of trying new promising players and develop from there, but that doesnt align with the decisions fnc has been making in the last years.

Loading...@Sextiz Yes but you also have understand that its market dynamics. You have to build with what you have in front of you and theres many reasons for why we believed in this roster with what we had available, and we still think there’s a lot of promise here. In terms of future iterations its not down to me right now, but of course this performance wasnt what we need as Fnatic. Just FYI, the teams doing well right now oftern have a heavy hitting IGL, and Boddy is still very young and growing in maturity whilst also able to hold his own. At some point in IGL land you need to give opportunities to new people or you just keep rehashing older leaders, which we’ve done plenty of times to no avail in recent years.

Loading...@Sextiz @sam Hi again Sam, at this point just stop it, you are embarassing yourself. You misspell mezii, you misspell bodyy. Furthermore you call bodyy very young when Just FYI, he's been around since 2016 in the CS scene and has fallen off since long ago. But worst of all, you say RossR was responsible for scouting players like Mezii to Endpoint. Are you seriously not aware he was playing on fucking Cloud9 before joining Endpoint? You appear so uneducated on the CS scene it's crazy. Don't just come in here every 6 or so months trying to educate us on how to build a good team when you fail yet again. You tweet on more occasions about some chat feature in the Fnatic app than about the CS team this year, that should say enough. At the end of the day, no matter what you're trying to sell us, you still signed tier 2-3 players, a washed IGL and Carn, Samuelsson and Keita are all still there, even if you try to say management structure is SOOOOO different. Again, please stop this, it's embarassing. Have a happy weekend, Pontus

Loading...Guys, there’s no denying this is a big blow. It was a big blow to lose mezii, and what it lead to was us taking some risks on signing young talent. A lot of that talent has significant potential and have shown sparks, as well as insanely good scrim results against the top teams. In saying that, obviously having 3 opportunities to get into the major and not showing up when it counts is really the most important thing. This is a big blow to us as a business not just the team, we rely on events like this and they help us grow and expand. The truth is in the offseason window, there was a lot of challenges, players being contracted, players not wanting to join, then certain teams spending insane amounts etc. Building a team from the ground up which we had to do takes time, and whilst we were super hopefully we could make the major with this roster, obviously making the major isn't the long term goal of CS. We want to get back to the top. However unlike other esports like LoL and Valorant, the structure for how to get there is made much harder because of the rules set by valve and others on rankings around keeping 3 players to keep your points. This has made us slow in some cases to make changes, in order to keep RMR position… Losing Mezii meant we were left late in the process without an RMR spot. Ultimately, I’m not going to sit here and promise you we can fix and get back to top 3-4 by the end of the year. We have more resources and focus on this than ever before, but it may take time to actually find the pieces we need to do it.

Loading...@sam But Sam clearly your current resources aren't able to do this? Our roster building for 4 years has been quite frankly questionable. You can't expect anyone who's been following this team to have any hope that you'll suddenly make a decent roster. Surely you need to be focused on the team management, how have people like keita and samuelsson kept their roles when we've constantly underperformed? Surely after burning through (estimate) 20 players and not one roster has managed to perform, you must be looking up as well as at the tier 2 players we seem to want to sign. Look at eyeballers, we could have just brought back JW etc to run the team, they literally couldn't have done any worse, but at least the content/love would have been there. Its so frustrating to see Fnatic's inability to actually fix faults. Plus in townhalls, meetings, discord, AMA we just get lied to with what what you state you will do "investment", "support staff" etc.

Loading...@sam Hi Sam, i appreciate your reaction, but your reaction just not cut it. I get that you are saying that you have more resources than ever before, but we just dont see it. Like you said you would add some staff, invest more, change the approach with interacting with fans, more updates, etc, we just dont see it. I get the feeling we are getting lied to. We need tangable things, no empty statements like you are doing now. It sounds like “ it was a huge blow for for the team and for the business, but we keep doing what we’re doing”. But what you were doing for 4-5 years ain’t working. For 4-5 years the CS squad didnt win anything notable, and in my opinion thats al down to missmanagement. In my opinion the fnatic management need to take responsibility for that. And looking at your reaction, i dont think anything will change because its the same statements we had for years. We need change and fnatic need to look at the management and not only looking for new players like you are saying. Furthermore, looking at the discord conversation i feel like the fans are losing faith and looking to support other teams, i.e. Mouz, etc. We need a different aproach with a new management We need changes in the current lineup We need tangable changes and no empty PR statements 5 years is enough. And for once, listen to your fans.

Loading...Couldnt have said it any better tbh. Either we see important changes within team structure and players (we need a good t1 IGL and an impactful awper to begin with) or we rather see fnc shut down cs division and stop being the joke of the scene, saying we want to go back to the top and assembling teams that cant even compete in t2.

I 100% agree with you on the problem with lack of communication regarding the CS team and that is really sad 😢 I feel like FNATIC officials did not notice that FNATIC CS team is washed and still are thinking they are the best in the world only because they have FNATIC written on their jersey. How did any FNATIC official really think that this roaster could get anywhere near qualifying for the major. I am really sad to see that a team I really love in Valorant and which is constantly performing on a high level there can be this bad in CS where they once were as good as in Valorant today but for some reason the org just doesn't give a shit about the CS team.

Fnatic will die on their hill for management regardless of actual evidence "because they work hard" even when they constantly fail. Look at Dardo, look at the CSGo player changes in the last 4 years. Honestly we are set up to fail when we refuse to fix the actual issues. But nah I'm sure spending 200k on some more tier 2 talent will be the right way forward

Straight from the rising roster... its... oh wait we disbanded our academy team despite the potential they had, its ok! Instead were just gonna go back to the drawing board again, signing some random t2/3 players without any second thought! Who knows, maybe we can get another MATYS or mezzi! This isnt a team anymore, this is an experiment. We keep trying to force a darkhorse roster instead of actually trying to build a t1 team. Even if we get the easiest RMR's, we cant even survive them now. But who cares? clearly sam and carn dont...
